Yeah I mean, Wayne Gretzky never lost a game in which played badly. Same for Godie Howe and Bobby Orr. What a bunch of lazy, horrible players we have on this team, all of them.

how many cups did gretzky win?

This might be a stupid question, but does the GM make the call on hiring/firing coaches? I thought that was higher up the ladder, with input from the GM.
- jmatchett383

My memory has been spotty before, but from all my readings of the Flyers, my understanding is that only one instance required permission from above the GM to fire the coach: When they gave the shiv to Bill Barber, during the (reported) infamous player revolt.

Other than that, as far as I've been able to tell, the Flyers GMs have led the way in the hiring, and definitely made the call on the firings

I won't argue that Giroux came up small offensively for them in the playoffs, but saying he had no heart? In fact he looked pissed every time the Schenn line got an o-zone start over his line in game 7.
- funmaster18

so he throws a hissy fit when he doesn't get his way suck it up and SCORE

I don't know, but you really only need to wear 1 per game.

I think MCW was the big fish in a little pond. It's easy to look good when you're getting the majority of the good chances because the rest of the team is so terrible. Once/if they start filling out the roster, we'll see if he's the real deal or not.
- jmatchett383

I get free tickets to the sixers games from my gf's work. I only go to watch MCW play. He puts on a good show.

So, based on the last 2 days, I have figured that we believe (to one extent or another) that the Flyers problems (and solutions) are:

Vinny's awful, trade him.
Hartnell's useless, trade him.
Coburn isn't elite, trade him.
Giroux's lazy, trade him.
Grossmann is made of slow-moving glass, trade him.
Couturier isn't Pavel Datsyuk, trade him.
Kimmo Timonen is 68, bury him.
Scott Laughton is a bust, trade him.
B Schenn is a fraud, trade him.
Hartnell's still useless, trade him again.
We need defense, rip the team apart for Shea Weber.

I believe 4. But we all know that Mark Messier really won them, because he was all heart. That's why he was able to lead Vancouver to all of their Cups.

I don't know who Stanley is, and I don't really have much interest in his cups.

You just said cups. "Cup" is a common term for an athletic supporter, which is a hard plastic shell that fits into a jockstrap and protects a player's testicles from impact. You only need 1 per game.

It is, actually. The Flyers gave me 2 pairs of free Sixers tix. I sold the lot for $30 and was very happy.

They practically beg Flyers STHs to go to Sixers games, with coupons for freebies, etc.

Yeah its a pretty good plan especially when the tickets are like 14 rows away from the court and are loaded with $100 of food/ merchandise.

Yeah, I remember Snider saying it was Homer's call when Lavi was let go.
