It wouldn't shock me if Hexy was at the helm for the draft. A lot will depend on whether Homer is ready to hand it over.

Draft is in Philly this year. Homer comes out..."I'd like to make a trade...I'm trading myself for Hextall and a 1st rounder" Crowd goes wild, Hextall comes out with a goalie stick and slashes Ray Shero across the face.

Eh, I wouldn't trade Matt Read.

He's been the Flyers best goal scorer (per 60 minutes) over the past three years.

I'm not anti- Brayden Schenn but if the right deal comes along to upgrade the D, I think they have to think about trading him. They have a surplus at C and he could be attractive enough to other teams who need help at C but could move a D.

While some roster changes are necessary, I don't think its a good idea for them to get crazy with UFA and making a ton of trades that leads to more holes. I would change things around line wise and maybe give Read second line minutes with VL and Simmonds. I'd like to see Raffl Couturier and Akesson do together on the third line and ease Laughton in centering the 4th.

Defensively I wouldn't be shocked if Ghost is on the team at some point in season but the more I think about it, I could see Alt or even Hagg with a strong training camp getting the spot over Ghost.

I think they could arrange for Chelios to be in the house, no?

I don't see enough young assets that they would be particularly interested in to move off the #1 pick.

Schenn Bros and Laughton would be an interesting offer if they want NHL ready guys in return.

Replace BSchenn w/ Read(replace Read on the 3rd w/Raffl) replace LSchenn w/ Ekblad. Laughton remains superfluous so long as three of G, Vinny, BSchenn and Coots are all here.

Would that be the best offer out there? Maybe not.... But that is giving up a lot without destroying our lineup, which most teams will have a hard time pulling off.

They could definitely put together a package to get the pick, but it almost certainly wouldn't be worth it to trade multiple high-end youngsters for one.

It's even possible that they wouldn't have to move up to #1 to get Ekblad... many scouts have Bennett and/or Reinhart ahead of him.

I know not everyone follows every level of an organization as some others, but my question of the day is this:

How do you have fans in Boston who are so clueless that they don't know they drafted P.K. Subban's BROTHER just two years ago in the first round?

That's a special level of stupid, right there

Oh, yeah: Rags in 6

They won't be favored, if they do advance to play maybe the Bruins, but I wouldn't be totally stunned if they got through that series too

Something about that squad...think they're going deep

This doesn't really surprise anyone, does it? That was the assumption when he was brought in.

Snider also said they're in the process of looking over everyone's job titles. Now that is an interesting comment.

Sounds like it's about to happen to me.

I think Homer fills the final year of the contract -- don't know why I feel that way, just do

I think, again think, what this says is that Homer very nearly got his ass fired last offseason and definitely opened the door for his successor to get in-house

Rangers are the better 5V5 team again... and MAF... so yeah, I'm going with them.

Completely forgot about Moulson. I wonder how much money the Isles will throw at him in an attempt to save face.

they roll 4 pretty good lines, six competent (and three really good) D, and queen H

I would not be surprised at all, especially if Rick show me the Cash starts converting his chances

I think there's some concern, with the GM openings out there, that they could potentially lose Hexy. Might as well bump Homer up the ladder and give Hexy the GM title, even if the responsibilities remain essentially the same.

keep us updated

will they stay with the policy of best player available?

even if the guy projects to be another 2 way, third line center, I guess that is the best way to go

personally I would love them to look for speed/skill over size but what do I know
