Lot of so-called power forwards slated to go in the first round this year... along with goalies and hulking stay-at-home dmen, they seem to bust more often than not. |

Nick Ritchie to me is like the prototypical power forward the Flyers would look for |

Not sure if some would like Nikolay Goldobin because he is Russian but he'd be the goal scoring winger they'd need.
Never a problem if you have questions, just ask here or in a PM - ob18
That's awesome -- I used to be more in tune with this sort of thing, from prospects to junior to college to the AHL, then the NHL, but it's just too much now, as I've gotten older. I watch a lot of NHL now, try to stay up on the best prospects, but even that is starting to get tougher and tougher, as I get older.
If you're cool, I totally will ask for questions, because I just don't see these young players anymore, but I remain curious. Just need to ask for assistance, now

If there is a LW available at 17 realistically, who would you want it to be? - AllInForFlyers

More of what they have, that being a player who loves to pass first. |

OK. I like to do this stuff by the "tools" method, so, if you can indulge me in this, it would be appreciated...
For LWs who likely will be around at 17, which player ranks highest in:
Skating (straightline speed)
Skating (agility, stops/start/burst)
Shooting accuracy
Defensive Awareness
Offensive Awareness
Board work
Passing
Puckhandling
Sorry; I realize it's a lot to ask. |

I don't expect a mid round pick to play for two years. If they want a shoot first LW next season they need to trade for one or sign a UFA. |

Trust me, I'm not looking for next year. You are absolutely correct. Just believe it's truly important to get one in the system really, really quickly, but that's just me. |

Fabbri
"Future considerations: scouting report"
Fabbri is a below average sized buzz saw who works hard and has some of the best feet in the entire draft. He uses his speed and mobility to be shifty and elusive but is also willing to play physical. His hands are skilled, he shows some creativity on the ice and has a quick shot release.

Bingo -- that's what I'm looking at, exactly.
Whether it's Schenn or Vinny at 2C, at some point, that LW is gonna have to look just like that, I have a feeling

Really odd to see Detroit sitting in front of the Flyers in the draft order... when's the last time Holland actually went up to the podium before Clarke or Homer in the 1st? |

So, what do you think they do: Let Legwand walk, or keep him and move Weiss? |

No idea... Holland's made some head scratching moves the past couple of years. Apparently they're going to CBO Tootoo instead of Weiss or Franzen, like the fans want. I think they let Legwand go... he's really not their type of player. |
