I'm thinking that if FLA takes Ekblad, EDM might look to trade down to Fleury territory, which would give the Leafs an opp to trade the #8 + whatever for #2 and get one of the C's, Reinhart/Bennett/Drasaitl

Edmonton is number 3 I believe. Yes that would be cheaper. If the leafs want Ekblad they have to get florida pick but Edmonton you can get a really good center. The thing with Florida though is that the owner is giving them the go ahead to spend big so if the leafs would want to send a good player with a contract they don't want Florida is the way to go.

Why would Babcock come here? Millions of dollars, and if he becomes the coach who won two golds for canada, two cups with detroit and a cup in Toronto, he will be a hockey god. He's probably okay with pressure after two olympics. Besides if a high profile guy with multiple
job options would never sign in TO, tell that to Burke, Wilson, Dudley, Carlyle, Shanahan,quinn, Dryden, etc
