Edmonton is number 3 I believe. Yes that would be cheaper. If the leafs want Ekblad they have to get florida pick but Edmonton you can get a really good center. The thing with Florida though is that the owner is giving them the go ahead to spend big so if the leafs would want to send a good player with a contract they don't want Florida is the way to go.

There are lots of teams willing to give him the same millions of dollars. Taking a job with the Leafs would be biggest risk towards tarnishing the hockey god status he already holds. Wilson and Carlyle were well respected coaches with lots of options before they started here. Where's Wilson now? How many teams will be after Randy when he's (hopefully) let go now?

After consultation with the most knowledgeable poster here I think Gardiner sucks.

Toronto has dealt away some great picks and prospects over the last dozen years. If they did a fair deal with Florida for the #1 pick, the fan reaction would be incredibly enthusiastic and positive.
