For negotiating rights to Mason Raymond & James Reimer - twiztedmike
Yes the Hawks haven't won since 1962. They have no goaltending & suck on the offense. Raymond & Reimer will make them instant contenders. Who is this Toews guy? He better be good to give up 2 all stars in Raymond & Reimer. |

Tank for Babcock! Because with Caryle's ridiculous system, they'll be toast. |

Toronto has dealt away some great picks and prospects over the last dozen years. If they did a fair deal with Florida for the #1 pick, the fan reaction would be incredibly enthusiastic and positive. - spatso
Depends on the deal. If the price is ridiculously high, no thanks. |

Torts would be better. Leafs would continue to suck but the entertainment value would go off the charts! |

Me neither. And I do think Greg Brady (the morning radio jackass who started the rumour) is that stupid to think that Babcock is that stupid. - 1979AD
Babcock would be stupid to take the Toronto job and become the highest paid coach ever? |

Babcock doesn't even have a very good team right now. Brian Burke came to Toronto Tim Lewieke did too. It's a great job in the NHL. People need to stop thinking it's Nashville. |

Not worth speculating on Greg Brady rumour. He's claimed so much Kessel will never re-sign and is headed to Minnesota this July. |

We always go through this. People claim "Why Would ... Come Here?". We heard that about Brian Burke he loved Anaheim, had a great team, Toronto sucks.
People don't get it they'll make the most money in Toronto and there's a tremendous challenge and prestige with being on the Leafs.
And when I said Nashville, I didn't mean points. |

We'll see. I just think it's the best job overall he can have after leaving Detroit. |

Let's be honest. The only way Babcock comes here is if he doesn't re-up in Detroit and MLSE does what they do best. It's all about the $. Does Babcock have this burning desire to take a team that would make him a god if they were to consistently play well? Does he have the patience to go through with it? Maybe Shanaban and him have a repoire? I don't know. It's a nice dream to have, but it's just that. Not unlike when Stamkos comes here in 2015 because MLSE will do what they do best with him.

I realize that Babcock has 1 year left on his contract. If he does desire to leave after it expires, too bad he doesn't express this desire now & resign. I hate this lame duck stuff, bringing back RC till Babcock is available. |

I hate this lame duck stuff. If Babcock does desire to leave the Wings at the end of 2014/2015 too bad he just doesn't resign now. Love for the Leafs to have Babcock but it sucks if we have to wait a year. I mean it's possible it could happen a year from now. Remember when Fletcher was a lame duck GM, many said, Burke will never leave Anahiem to come here. Just think the waiting sucks.
Stamkos? He's scheduled to be a UFA in JUly 2016 but you know Stevie Y will move the earth if he has too i order to get him signed WELL b4 that. Do not expect Stammer to still be a UFA on July 1st 2016. NO FUKKEN WAY |

What does Stamkos have to do with it? Hiring a coach is much easier than signing a franchise player who RFA.
A much better comparable is how Brian Burke ended up in Toronto. |

I'll tell you what he has to do with it. He's gonna be Leiweke's big splash according to Mr. Cox, that's what! |
|

This is good news, it indicates a very strategic TANK season next year. A franchise player is available. And the Leafs are going after him. The team despises this very strange man, Carlyle, and if they trade Bernier and keep Reimer, the team finishes last place overall. Great strategy. |
