There's trade-offs... Kimmo is better at getting his shot through and much safer to have as the only dman on the ice in case the play goes the other way. - Tomahawk
Ghost should be on the first unit at some point next year. Quick as hell to keep pucks in, is already making snappy no look passes, howitzer at the point. Kid will be deadly. |

I think he should be in the AHL for at least half the season, right now anyway.......... |

In with Niskanin, Moulson, Laughton and picks. Out with Lecav, Hartnell and Grossman.

How much do you guys think a ticket to the draft will cost? That'd be really, really cool. I looked on stubhub just now and it looks like they're not available for purchase yet - Giroux_Is_God
The league was late telling the Flyers what their allotment would be because of all the outdoor games (taking their league office resources). They plan to announce their plan in the next couple of weeks. Tickets will be free, but their plan is to make them available to STHs. They have not yet announced how that will be accomplished. But as soon as it is I or one of the other STHs will likely let you all know. |

I would even trade picks with those guys to move on. |

Yup keep moving picks with a system limited in the amount of prospects it currently has & has going into it.
You need more picks not less. |

What center gets moved this off season? What do you do to add a top pairing defenceman?
I think St. Louis is looking for a 2nd line center, maybe we could swing a deal with them. I doubt they will give up Shattenkirk, but I would look at the asking price. |

Or you mean they get first dibs? |

How many open slots do the Flyers have? I was all for dumping players for picks last year and this year. Now that they can contend by adding help on the blue line and a top line winger for nothing but money, I'm OK with losing a few mid round picks to create the cap space and roster space for the young guys to play. Do you really want 4 more years with Hartnell and Lecav in the lineup and a hamstrung cap space to save a few mid round picks? |

To move the players mentioned in recent posts here you won't likely to just be able to attach a mid round pick to find a team to accept them in a trade.
They'll want a high pick or top prospects with those terrible contracts. |

I could see, maybe the Islanders looking at Hartnell, they have trouble keeping/resigning players.
Who knows?
He could slide into a top 6 role for them, or, maybe he could go back to Nashville.
VL is slow, I can't see anyone taking him.
Grossmann is not that bad really, he does utilize his strengths, every team needs a banger/shot blocker. |

I'm just not in a rush to dump hartnell.
Who can we replace him with? Not schenn, not Simmonds who is a borderline 2nd liner at 5 on 5 at evens.
Certainly no one from within our system
Flyers could do a lot worse. The guy does a lot of dumb, but usually when he gets bumped down, it ignites a fire in him.
Yea his contract sucks, but the player is not in decline yet. He's still a 25-30 goal power forward that doesn't grow on trees |

The team is better off keeping Hartnell. The guy is good for 20-30 goals and 50 points every season. Those types of players aren't easy to find and will cost an overpayment anyway in FA. |

I think they'd find some takers if they eat some money. For all of VL's faults, he can still produce on the PP and has a really good shot. A team might find him intriguing from that standpoint.
Even if the Flyers deal Schenn, I don't want VL back on this team. He was a trainwreck at even strength. |

I agree, but, for how much longer?
We could do a lot worse, yes, (cough, VL, cough).
Part of being a good GM is recognizing when to move players that still have value, before their contract weighs the cap down. |
