Ha Kennedy use to do that constantly!

I felt in the 3rd he didn't get too much ice time, wasn't sure what was going on.

I see now that Gibbons is now the new board favorite and his heroics have elevated him to near superstardom. Lets add him to the list of over hyped players, Tangradi, Despress, Caputi, Scuderi, the list goes on.

- sammy87

Difference is Gibbons has shown tangible results, not just hearing about how good they are suppose to be. I know he isn't a superstar, but the way he plays mixed with his attitude towards the game makes him a very likable player. Scuderi being a key part in two stanley cup championships doesn't exactly make him over hyped.

that would be absolutely ridiculous. sniping ability. can get to the front of the net. has the snarl to create room for him.

crosby, perry, and kunitz would be unfair.

Brian Gibbons was assistant captain at Boston College as you can see on this link. He was regarded as a courageous leader and was on a championship team in 2008. He is small in stature and big in heart. He is my favorite underdog at this time on this team. He is renowned for his speed and willingness to go to net bravely despite his size. To me he is the definition of brave. There is no way anyone would consider a player his size achieving what he has in such a short amount of time. I would go to war with Brian Gibbons, I sh*t you not.

Here you can see he is no stranger to scoring goals

I like the kid too!

Curious though, when was the last time a forward came up through the system before turning into a standout player? I'm either missing someone obvious or it's been a while.

Edit: By standout, i mean allstar quality.

yeah. im not saying hes a superstar either. or that he should be playing 20 mins a game, or have a spot cemented next to crosby. but even aside from the whole feel good attitude he brings, the guy has speed. and that asset is really needed on this team, especially with dupuis being out. if the team picks their spots where to use him, and he keeps up his end of the deal, i really want him in the lineup. especially if it means a guy like glass sits.

Technically Alexei Morozov. Multiple MVP awards...unfortunately all back home. Although if he got to face Brodeur 82 times a year, he would have won some here too

I was about to say Carcillo and Dorsett out, so chances of a Pens win have decreased.
