Nash is a waste. He stepan, st. louis need to go. The entire top line is trash. Can't rely on players like pouliot brassard and zucc to score every game. i like them all but they are role players plain and simple. the quote on quote "stars" haven't done jack all postseason save the first 3 games vs. philly.
Team has no finish. No execution whatsoever. pp is beyond useless regardless of the flicker of life they showed tonight. bottom line is they aren't catching the pens now plain and simple. they got all the momentum which they will ride over us in 5 games which is par for course when they face us in the playoffs.
Maybe one day sather will realize it's time for him to go, be it by retirement or death(yes i know horrible to say but i'm beyond disgusted right now and never liked him), and we'll get someone who can bring in real talent and real clutch players that can score a goal or 2 in the postseason. Until then it's going to be the same old story every postseason providing they make it because if the st louis trade sparks the days of old when this organization kept trading and signing players whose best years have past it will get ugly very quickly and take a long time to fix that. |

The Rangers losing is validation for their pathetic organization but next year yeah next year they're taking over the City with JT, Okposo and.......another top 5 pick - cranford93
I thought that was a fair deal. You wouldn't do that? |

the Rangers have been playing a ton of hockey in the last week and a half ... some of that heavy workload had to catch up with them sooner or later.
I still think you guys can take this series. |

Was pretty loud up here until we ended yet another PP with a goal to the guy leaving the box. It is tiring being loud for 3 hours with nothing to cheer for. Nornally critical of the crowd at MSG, but cant fault them tonight.

Correct. They played their asses off tonight. No quit in them and Pens are weak. Just win the next game. Extend the series and the schedule fiasco fails. Screw the "gifted ones". |

Wow...the hate train is rolling right on down the line tonight. Let's see if we can get past the anger stage and back to reality. We can't buyout and trade everyone...again.
Had all of those shots off the posts tonight gone in we would be celebrating the team rebounding and destroying the Pens 7-2. The bounces didn't go their way and the few mistakes they made cost them on the scoreboard.
It's a playoff loss. It sucks. The team played exponentially better tonight than they did last night. Time is running out, but we all know how this season has gone. If they find their offense, it will come in bundles and the team will be posting 4-5 goals per night again.

Here's my assessment of tonight's game:
The Rangers were the better team by far tonight. They created scoring chances and were a lot better defensively than they were in game two. They hit, by my count, four posts/crossbars. Literally, this team was inches away from winning this game despite Fleury playing an uncharacteristically strong game.
Nash is frustrating. He is an elite talent but not an elite player. If he played with the heart, intensity and passion that guys like Boyle, Zucc, D. Moore and Pouliot played with he'd dominate games. He just doesn't have that type of intensity. I love the guy because he is a Ranger and I want him to do well but he's a lot like Gaborik in that he coasts and doesn't play with the level of intensity that we want to see in a guy with so much ability.
The power play was better but jeez, get a goal already. This "drought" is worse than pretty much anything we ever saw under Torts and Sullivan and that is embarrassing to say. We could have put ourselves in great position in both games two and three if we took advantage of the power play opportunities the Pens have given us.
Fleury has been very good the last two games, to his credit. However, if we play the way we did tonight the rest of the series we will win. He won't steal games like he did for the most part tonight. And if we keep pressuring him he may well implode at some point too.
Nothing to say at this point other than they need to play even better than they did tonight in game four. We need to finish. Those shots that hit the post need to go in. All that matters from here on out is results. Let's go get it done. |

The Rangers did play their asses off tonight from an effort perspective, but on the other hand this "weak" Pens team is a game 1 3rd period goalpost away from being up 3-0 in the series. I fully expect the Rangers to come hard in game 4 and not quit. I also thought AV handled his presser perfectly tonight...get the well justified gripe about his schedule of his chest but, make the focus be something positive about his team.
I truly meant to not post here tonight, but I can't abide the Pens being called weak after pitching 2 shutouts on back to back nights.....Thats just....
Weak.
Night all. |

He was great tonight, pretty good last night but yes, he has also had stretches in the postseason where he has flat been awful over the years. You can't deny that. Let's be honest about tonight; he had some fortune on his side too. If he was not playing at the top of his game and the puck bounced the had Rangers way, this game could have ended 5 - 2 in favor of the Blueshirts.
I'm not saying he's always awful but he sure has been awful too much for you guys and that is probably a huge reason the Pens haven't won more than one Cup. |

im not disagreeing with the fact that he's been soft at times. no one can deny that.
but you often blame MAF for his shortcomings when in reality the team in front of him was largely to blame. both years he got lit up, 2012 and 2013, the penguins had a very open and loose defensive structure which often left to blown assignments and killer goals against. as a result, his numbers suffered dearly.
in the two years where our system was the most defensive, he posted his best numbers, won 2 eastern conference championships and one stanley cup.
this year you are seeing a much better defensive mindset from our guys and as a result he is playing better hockey.
goalies are always the beneficiary of luck, penguins have hit a ton of posts this series, same with the rangers. i have always believed that that kind of stuff balances out over a 7 game series.
penguins better be ready to bring it on wednesday because you know the rangers will bring everything they got. |

Never has a series that stands at 2-1 felt more over for ME. I know it's not but it really looks like this team is ready for summer vacation.
I know it's just the fatigue, I hope, but this is the playoffs, you have to be able to find the extra gear to push forward. I'll likely feel more positive as Game 4 approaches tomorrow night but right now it's impossible to see us coming out on the victorious side in this series. |

This going to be a long 36 hours of getting kicked by every hater in the tri state area
It really sucks when you wake up and instantly are depressed, I can't imaging having to actually handle something far more significant than a Rangers loss, I hate this feeling |

I didn't think they looked tired, they came at the Penguins all game long and played incredibly hard. I think AV admitting the schedule had an impact on their preparation is a mental hurdle cleared and its 2-1. Only 2-1. A win tomorrow and the back to back shutouts are a blip. I mentioned repeatedly the only they win is to sweep both games at home, but right now 2-2 is better than the alternative so get a win tomorrow night, the PP looked better, usually when a slump like that breaks, the signs have to be there first, can't think of a better time to bust out of a PP slump than tomorrow night. Just get a win and its 2-2, a best of three and lets roll the dice.
Do we have a choice??
Edit: I think Diaz needs to stay in, I'd put one of Carcillo or Dorsett back in and let Miller or Fast play further up in the lineup. Unless Kreider is ready. I'm hoping against hope he is somehow ready to return. |

I agree but Fast shouldn't be in he's not big enough for the playoffs, Miller at least has size but I would put both back in unless Kreider is ready, time for the return of the prodigal son |
