As he has shut your team out 2 times in back to back nights......that would also be 1 more Cup than your all-world goalie if I am correct.
Enjoy the Billy Joel concert kids! - ryman1566
Rangers ineptitude had more to do with that. That cup doesnt keep him from being the worst goalie ever to win one.

I don't take issue with the Staal hit on Crosby. Should it have been a penalty, yes, but it's the playoffs, and missed calls happen all the time. The story of this series so far is the Penguins are outplaying the Rangers 5 on 5, and Fleury has stepped up his game to be equal to Hank, who has been amazing through 3 games. |

Brad Johnson won a super bowl so that makes him a better QB than Dan Fouts and Dan Marino |

Tell me Gibbons little shove on Diaz wasn't a little underhanded. Where is the outcry? That was as dangerous as anything Staal did to Crosby. - Blueshirts4ever
Dude Staal two-handed Crosby to the head twice. Well the slash was to the neck but still. To hear anyone saw an obvious crosscheck to the head is not too bad, should get a crosscheck to the head. Bortuzzo on St Louis was in the ribs, which are not career ending. That doesnt make it right but Crosby has been known to have head problems so Staal targeted that. Not cool. |

The Penguins don't win the Cup in 09 without Fleury. He was unbelievable in games 6 and 7, only giving up 1 goal in each against a powerhouse Red Wings team. |

I can't believe the outcry from that Pitt "journalist" over the Staal-Crosby incident. Look, Crosby initiates a lot of that type of play himself. How many two-handed slashes has he delivered over the years where no penalty was called despite a ref looking right at the play. Remember the Dubi-Crosby incident some years back leading Dubi to refer to Crosby as a whiny little baby or some such thing during an intermission interview.
Knowing the way Staal plays his intent I am sure was not to hit Crosby in the back of the head. To me it looked like he was delivering the cross check to his upper back but while Staal's head was turned to the right in the direction of the puck, Crosby crouched a bit and got it in the back of the head. You want to call it a penalty fine. You want to call it cowardly then call out all of the individual acts of cowardice committed by the Pens every single game. Kovacevic could fill the entire sports section some days after Penguin games in that case.
It's the playoffs. Staal is doing everything he can to make Crosby and any other Penguin earn his space on the ice. What do they want? Staal to just stand around and let the Pens do whatever they want? Suck it up and drop the suspension and coward talk already. Count your blessings after a nice win for you guys. Rangers played very well and that easily could have been a Blueshirts win if it weren't for Fleury playing a good game and some Ranger bad luck (i.e. three cross bars/posts and miscommunication between Richie and Zucc leading to the Jokinen breakaway). - gkmkiller
Exactly Glen, couldn't have said it any better. The outcry about this is so absurd, like TCP said, its laughable.

This blog is a dumpster fire now. But this what happens when one of the franchises has been fed from a silver spoon. The fans act like that too. Boys the way we express our opinion on this blog is over. We have to bend the knee to Penguin fans. Just the way the world works. |

And he's been the reason why you haven't been back, he's no lock to keep it up in game 4, the is Pens team hasn't won sh!t yet, but by all means don't take the next 3 seriously |

Intent? I don't think he went in with the intent of cross checking him in the head, first of all, he hit him on the back of the neck, Skid slumped down at the last minute. Intentional headshot? No, the second one was across his shoulder blade again, not a head shot and not intentional if you know anything about Marc Staal. Again, a penalty, no doubt, a suspension? Take a walk. |

So you are making the assumption that what Staal did was on purpose, and if that's what you are thinking, then there is no point continuing the discussion. |

I don't agree with that. Definitely the Pens were the better team in game two but game one was pretty even and game three the Rangers dominated at ES. To me the stories of the series so far has been the Rangers absolute futility on the man advantage and Fleury playing well in games two and three.
We had three PP chances in the first half of period one Sunday. If the Rangers cash in on one of those perhaps that sets a different tone for that game.
Last night, once again the Rangers had plenty of chances on the PP and even one goal could have changed the outcome. In fact, I think both Pens goals were scored just after a Ranger PP ended. Score a goal on either of those and we're looking at a faceoff at center ice and not a breakaway for Crosby or Jokinen. |

Or most of the internet tough guys here could stop acting like flaming douchebags. Would probably help both sides, but from what i've seen, no one is gonna change. Too many had their cheerios pissed in on a daily basis apparently. |

Really? The backbone or a franchise, who has had serious concussion problems in the past, gets hit in the back of the head by an illegal crosscheck, and you don't understand why some people are pissed off? Like i said earlier, i don't take offense to it, because Sid is okay, but i understand the outcry. |

A columnist that covers your team began this outcry. An observation made by one of the Ranger beat reporters more or less said the Pittsburgh group is the most unprofessional he has ever seen, basically saying the only thing missing is the Penguins jersey. Pom Pom Penguins. |

He played well in the Columbus series, with the exception of the last few minutes of game 4. The defense played like crap in front of him the first 4 games. Yes, he's been a problem in past playoff series, but not the only one. There were several mitigating factors to the playoff woes of the Pens. |

Did any of us go typical Penguins fan and troll Ryan Wilson's blog after game 1? If not, we should have. First, it was probably then last game the Rangers will win this year. Second, we gotta be bigger bumhole's it's the only way. Gotta get with the times. |

This is why you hear so much from Penguin fans. Is because of comments like this. We hear it all the time. Yes we have two of the best players in the world, but what has the league handed us that we are fed from a silver spoon? Its guys like you that get us fired up. |

Maybe Cindy should retire if he's so concerned about accidental hits to the head. Savard had to retire due to a hit to the head from ...who was it again....Matt Cooke...employed by the femguins at the time.
