Gee, my bad, switch the teams up, Pittsburgh and Washington were both equally garbage before the lockout. Since you enjoy providing links, where did Washington wind up drafting in 2005? Anaheim also got the second overall pick; where did they finish in 2003-2004?
Point being, it wound up becoming a crapshoot, in 2005. All except for the team that needed hockey's next savior the most. - MidnightMarauder
It always hard to stomach the "fix" talk when it usually comes from the Pens' rival fans. You can think whatever you want. Personally, i think it's complete bull, and it's used to try and piss off Pens fans when there is nothing else to say. Same with the using "Cindy" and the whole bandwagon fan argument. |

Flyers fans were actually pretty classy throughout the series. You know how some Penguins fans do it though. Fall behind, stay quiet, go ahaead, stick out their chests and rub it in. - MidnightMarauder

More like nauseous. I guess Penguin fans, mostly since 2005, can talk smack because they do have the best player in the league and they are a consistent cup contending team. - MidnightMarauder
they're also the fanbase that let their team go bankrupt.. twice... so they have no respect for me.. no matter how bad the rangers were we always made a ton of money... guess pgh just isn't that type of sports town |

Yeah, I've seen similar antics from Pens fans for sure (luckily not since 2009). I certainly can't speak for all of my brethren but, despite the Flyers basically being religion to me for 40+ years, I can handle when they lose a lot better than before I hit my mid-40s. Plus, it's been 40 years since we won. Whats one more year? . |

Pittsburgh didn't rig the Lemieux draft either right?
Listen, nobody can actually prove if the fix was in for the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. But why does it matter to Pens fans if it was or wasn't? You got the player the organization needed rebuild and now thrive in the NHL. |

Yup, actually most of the Pitt fans that i have seen on here have been pretty cool. This morning with the some of the Pitt trolls coming in, the comments about Staal, and after a loss for us, only natural the board sh1t the bed. |

I'll politely disagree about 05, but the Lemieux draft was most definitely a tank job by the Pens. |

When the Shrek and Donkey show is over in Pittsburgh the fans will go away, Mario will bail as an owner and the Pens will move to Seattle.. The clock is ticking Pitt....

New York's Owner wasn't holding the city hostage for a new arena and the team wasn't losing money hand over fist. |

I am a die hard Rangers fan; I am more used to the team letting me down year after year as well.
Losing I can stand because, at the end of the day, my life does not revolve around the success or failures of my favorite sports team. But I really can't take gloating fans; especially from a fan base that rivals the Miami Heat in strength of allegiance. |

I'd love to take credit for that, but, when jimmy posted that pic of 87 & 71 as Shrek and Donkey. I had to adopt it in to my repoirtoire

Good morning, Gents. I realize I was somewhat critical of the board last night. I will say this, I was struck by the level of defeatism on the board after the Penguins took a one goal lead in the second period, and perhaps my language was a little too colorful. For that I apologize, but not as to the general point. I think we all realize that the Rangers have an uphill climb in this series. I think we all realize that they have problems too various to list here. I think we all realize that the Rangers will probably lose this series. So, from my perspective, its not about being pessimistic, because I'm pessimistic as well. It's about quiting on the club too damn quickly. They didn't role over and die last night. They played hard, got the better of the play, and just lost because they couldn't finish.
You know all how I feel about you, even if you are a bunch of ..... |

It sure looks dim right now but I am not folding the tent just yet. If they lose, based off of what I have seen the last two games, I will not be stunned. But the series is only 2-1 Pittsburgh, far from over. |

It's far from over. MAF lets in one crappy goal and then implodes you guys are good. That's all it'd take. |

For sure but the Rangers are the remedy for most struggling or no name goaltenders.
Their power play was close last night but still nothing to show for it. They badly outshot Pittsburgh but were still too passive and made some unforgivable mistakes with the puck.
That Zuccarello-Richards disgrace of an exchange, which directly led to Jokinen's goal, truly made me sick. |

You would think from all the talk that the Penguins completed a sweep. The Rangers duplicate last night's effort with just a little execution, they win tomorrow night. Its hard to sit here and say the PP looked better when both goals came off of poor reads at the end of power plays, but, they at least looked like they simplified things and got more set up time and more pucks to the net. Now of course they have to finish, but, I'm hoping that that was a first step in solving the power play mystery. I think Diaz made a world of difference, he just bombs from the point, one of these times a fortuitous rebound will find its way onto a Ranger stick much like Jokinnen's goal in game 2. Lost in the shuffle here is the Penguins are being held well below their goals for per game average, so just keep playing stingy defense and they will break through, the problem its break through tomorrow or its over. |
