No definitive word on Kreider but all signs are intimating that he might play as soon as tonight or Friday.

I would love to see him back as his place in the line-up solidifies the top 9, but, I'm not really sure how much of an effect one player would have.
Without spewing conspiracy theories here, but I do believe that the scheduling of the back to back games really did work out in the Pens favor. I say that only because I think that the off day between games 1 and 2 allowed the losing team (in this case the Pens) to adapt and adjust to the winners (Rangers) game.
Sure the Rangers didn't show up to game 2, but the Pens defensive plan worked to a tee in game 3. and IMHO it was simply Bylsma saying to the team, "expect the Rangers to pass".
Now its AV's chance to turn the tables ... if he can make the right adjustments, we go back to Pittsburgh tied at 2 ...

He would give this team a big lift to their top six. The Stepan line is struggling mightily; Kreider provides an element that the top two lines are missing. The kid goes to the net, plays with an edge and can get in on the Penguins defense quickly.

He plays tonight the team ties the series.

You know AV won't answer the question directly, and lets be clear, I don't know that any one of us expects him to be he savior but the is stupid fast, adds grit and can shoot the puck. Also, is another option for the power play. He will get in Crosby and/or Malkin's face too. He basically needs to be Lucic or Simmonds for our team.

Kreider playing tonight will give me more confidence, without question. The team didn't necessarily play bad, in Game 3, but they definitely need more net presence in front of Fleury. Kreider is one of the few Ranger forwards that go to the net with no questions asked.

If he can stickhandle and shoot freely I don't see why he can't go tonight.

He already in shape. He was playing in games while he made that jump. He's actually played in over a month. He probably won;t be in tip top shape.

The ripple effect he would have on the lineup would be significant.

It allows the team to break up Nash and St Louis and put Kreider back on that top line; which was effective before Kreider's surgery. This lets St Louis drop back to the Richards line, leave the Brassard line alone and either Miller or Carcillo on the fourth line.

Lineup looks a lot better with Kreider in it than out of it.
