Well ,yes scoring needs to happen. It's just that those styles of play force turnovers that lead to more scoring chances. Philly does it to us all the time. New Jersey gives us fits too. We are not a patient team generally so that's how teams take advantage. I'm not sure what else you would do to get your guys going?

Lighting someone up, like Malkin, and frustrate him early would be my way of coaching the Rangers tonight. Gotta do it early though.

He is elusive and hard to hit. Best idea there is just try to get under his skin so he will take a penalty. That leads to a discussion on PP......

I know, I'm just being a smarta$s.

In all seriousness, I feel like the power play is more important to the rangers this year than it was to the bruins in 2011. If the rangers are going to truly transition into a speed and skill team, the pp needs to be effective or the team philosophy as a whole will be ineffective. Bruins don't need a good pp because they can just muscle their way to goals every night and have good enough defense to kill all the penalties they take in the process.

- Nomad91

No you're being quite reasonable. The Bruins winning the cup with an abysmal PP is the exception. Let's not forget Tim Thomas put on one I the most amazing displays of goaltending ever. So yes the Rangers PP is critical especially as the under dog

Fast in for Dorsett, playing on fourth line. Carcillo still with Richards and Hagelin. Can't say that I get this and would expect Fast and Carcillo to switch spots. No changes on defense.

AV has done well with lineup changes thus far, so lets hope this one works out as well.

I would suspect that's going to change. But the one thing we know about Fast is that he is a pretty responsible and smart player.

Dorsett deserves to sit. And everything that AV has touched this post season has turned to gold so he gets the benefit

Think AV realized this team need fresh legs. Hopefully Miller throws his weight around tonight.

Win tonight, lose Wednesday, Carcillo comes back in and gets rowdy in game 5 and scores again. Carcillo 3 goals, Nash 0.

Wow. That's an admission that they're tired or too slow or both and the Diaz move benefits the power play hopefully
