If they pay him 6 million again I will not be ok with that. - MBFlyerfan
If Kimmo wants a legit shot at the cup it's not likely going to be with the Flyers. |

I'm expecting Timonen to be back with the Flyers. And it'll be interesting to see how much he means that it's about winning and not about the money. And that the only reason for coming back, is another shot at the Cup. - MJL
If its anything more than 3.75 its not worth it in my opinion. The other reason why I'm not crazy about bringing him back is that if he does come back I dont think they're going to take him off the top PP, and I think it's time to move on from him there. |

Neither will I. If he truly wants to win the Cup, then he needs to help his team do so in terms of cap space.

I agree with all points. I wanted Streit on the top PP this past season.

why? you don't like watching him never shoot the puck and just play catch with giroux for a minute and a half? |

C'mon, he'll occasionally pass it to Voracek on the other side.

So now that Lava is in Nashville...I think we have a legit landing spot for Vinny in a trade right? Id take rights to Del Zotto
I actually like the Lava to Nashville move for them....with Weber, Josi, and Jones on the blue line he can get real dynamic with them. Good move by Poille |

I think Vinny strongly prefers to stay on the East Coast so I'm not sure he would waive to go there. I mentioned Hartnell as an option earlier. I think he is a guy Lavi will get a lot more out of than Berube tbh. |

I believe Vinny would waive to go to Nashville if he has assurances from Lavy about playing time and position on the time. I know he is under contract for the Flyers, but I'm sure a conversation like that could take place in a hush, hush manner. I think Nashville has Gaustad and Mr. Underwood at center right now, I have to believe Lava would be very interested.

Lavy going to Nashville really has opened up a possibility to trade VLC. It is a game changer in some ways.

At this point, I really believe it is more important for Vinny to find the best situation for himself. I understand he probably wouldn't waive to go to Buffalo, but with Lavy on board I got to believe it is more important for him to have a coach who believes in him then what city he plays in half the year.

If he wants this team to be a cup contender his contract will be for $1-$2 million tops. Need the cap space. |

im not just being all rah rah anti flyers, but my god i just cant see why an nhl GM would want to take on vinnys deal. especially a team that cant afford the risk of dead financial weight in a year or so. |

It's an interesting possibility. And bringing in a popular, well-respected player could excite the fanbase a bit as well, and Nashville could definitely use a bit of excitement. |

they need a youngish offensive center. i know, not exactly many just laying in the yard. but still, its hard to do anything in this league without one. |

I don't think another NHL team wants VL - at the term/cap hit that the Flyers signed him to. The whole reason Philly landed VL was because they threw so many years at the deal. It's a lead charm swinging around Holmgren's neck right now. Only way I can see VL waiving his no-trade and that team actually wanting the player is if the Flyers retain some of his salary or take on another albatross contract on the way back. |

Yup, getting rid of Vinny is going to take work. But maybe, if he stays, he gets his back fixed, rehabs, and has a better season next year. Maybe Berube finally figures out what to do with him, who to play him with. Who the hell knows? |

exactly. thats how i view it. granted, i dont think he is a total stiff if he can be healthy again. he looked good before that. but then again, thats a big if. and even then, while the cap hit isnt astronomical, the length of the term is. |

As do I, some will say no and find a LW or another forward prospect that is or has the makings of a goal scorer. - ob18
Ha! Yeah, I'm whining about LWs now, but trust me, come draft day, I'm a BAP guy. Not drafting BAP is the surest sign of ruin a franchise can make -- I didn't see Colorado not taking Nathan MacKinnon when they already had Matt Duchene, Ryan O'Reilly and Paul Statsny, so trust me, when the time comes, I'll zip it and be totally onboard with BAP.

i really do think a lot of his looking straight out useless this year was due to his back. but those types of injuries are always shaky to come back from. i dont know. i just know im glad he got that deal!
im sure you guys feel the same about the scuderi one |

i feel like in the first round, teams should only deviate from that in the most egregious of circumstances. hockey is just so hard to project. by the time these guys can be good, 2 or 3 years have likely gone by, and who knows what the landscape of a team looks like then.
you can bite yourself in the ass for passing on player x because you had 3 guys at that position who now are no longer in the organization just as player x is starting to come into his own. |
