Has the question been asked or answered of who is calling the shots, and who has final say? Is this just a change in titles or is it real change? |

Hextall has 100% autonomy this is his team. Homer looked teary, you can tell this is hextalls team. Homer is more of a peter Lukko type of guy now..There for council |

You're right about that. I just think there were too many mixed signals leading up to the change for it to be just a move on paper |

As long as it isn't some weird sounding Canadian guy who can't say the word "score" correctly. I'm fine. |

I haven't read all the comments - busy work day but I can say with authority that our Coach, GM, and President can beat up your Coach, GM , and President...

Well guys like Edwards, and Steigy those blatant homers are the worst, I think their fan bases like them though.
Jackson is terrible imo. I have to mute the sound with him. Would love Strader to get the Flyers job. He's great. |

They asked Holmgren and he said basically Berube's a good coach and he's looking forward to watching him coach a full season. |

he already coached a full season - 3games....didnt say he would be coaching the flyers. I love gm double talk. |

Hextall doesn't strike me as a "Yes Man" He's certainly not short on opportunities. If he was going to be some kind of figure head I don't think he would have stayed in Philly. |

Yeah, but getting a roster over the summer, getting your guys ready in training camp and preseason, and starting a season off as a head coach are huge. |

I think Hextall will be calling the shots or he would have left for another job. Living in a Toronto where ownership doesn't care about the fans, I think Snider does care to some extent. He is visible and shows his emotions towards the team. Maybe he can go too far at times, but he wants it just as much as we do. |

Maybe not, but I'm guessing things would have been slightly neater had they been able to wait until Holmgren's current contract expired. - johndewar
Well, that has more to do with Luukko's odd timing than anything. Businesses seldom have a choice about that kind of disruption. And there's certainly no need to keep Holmgren around at all if 1 year's salary were the issue. |

I'd love it if Gary Thorne left the Orioles broadcast team and came and did the games with Bill Clement and Jones! Kind of like the old ESPN days, except on Comcast and exclusively Flyers!!
On a side note, they ditched Thorne/Clement for the NBCN guys for NHL 15, thoughts? Ray Ferarro of TSN will do the "Inside The Glass" portion. |

Absolutely right about that. If hexy didnt have any input in his hiring i wonder if he gets dumped as unfair as that would seem. Picking a coach is crucial for a gm. |
