Talking about how he's focused on hanging on to picks, carefully developing players, and building around homegrown talent. - Tomahawk
That's great to hear. |

Yup. They're as subtle as one of his slashes, though. |

I think he is talking about Edm...

I'm nodding my head at everything that's coming out of his mouth.
But can he/will he stand up to Snider? |

I think we need to realize that these guys lie to us all the time and that's just part of the job. It's ok - eayost

Not going to name any names, but we've got a team in this league that's been collecting 1st-overalls year after year. They might be good in 3-years, but ask their fans how they've felt over the past 7-8 years. |

If I was snider or any owner, I would let the guy I brought in do his job and address it after it blows up or succeeds. I mean, am I crazy? |

I think he can. I don't think he comes back without getting to do what he wants. His shots at EDM and Pitt are great. Also the way he talks you get this feeling that he would rather have a cup in Philly then the one he got in LA |

I think Snider's hands off until he gets a bur under his saddle... like w/ the never again thing w/ goaltending.
Would Hexy have had the guts to tell Snider to cool his jets and stick w/ Bob? That's what I wanna know. |

Not sure how eager teams will be to trade for grossman coming off another lower-body-surgery-requiring injury and hartnell has a NMC so it's up to him. - funmaster18
Worst case scenario is you eat a little bit of salary and Grossman is easily shipped off for a draft pick and cap space.
As much as everyone loves to mention NMC's (and they are relevant), you approach a guy like Scott Hartnell the right way, and anyone can be moved. Once a player knows he's no longer wanted, they typically don't want to stay. If nothing else, his NMC means we are limited in what we receive in return; we are likely stuck with a short list of teams Hartnell would accept a trade to. He is another player that because of his deal, we may have to eat some salary.
Of the 3, Coburn IMO is the least likely to go. You have to move Grossman or Harntell first to regain some valuable cap space. IMO, all 3 players under-performed to a degree this year and are simply not worth their salaries on THIS team.
Hartnell is more of a numbers game up front, as he was still relatively productive offensively. If his cap hit was 1m under what it is and about 2 years shorter, I don't think he goes anywhere.
And as much as some may disagree, I believe we are stuck with Lecavlier for the time being. |

Is cap space going to be an issue if Hextall is trying to build from with and with the cap going up? I'm all for improving the team but I don't like trades to just get rid of a guy and take salary back.
