We would be running in one spot if we moved a player 1.5 years into his career for a new Defenseman which is not really deemed to be a franchise dman just a good NHLer, maybe MAYBE a top pairing guy (likely a 2-3). Nurse has the same potential as Ekblad IMO with more of a mean streak and plays bigger.
We'd be better off moving the pick or sitting at 3 and taking a centre. Ekblad could also drop, like Jones. - ystoil
Thats the thing though, is he? 3 years in Juniors. Entered a year early. Played in the WJC underage where Nurse wasn't even thought of. People in the industry think he is the next big thing, or at least better than nurse. Plus lets face it, if we keep Eakins, Yak is not going to be given a shot. They are oil and water.
Edit: I agree that he could drop and that we definitely could use a center. I remember the start of the year. Might be nice to have both if we could. |

I understand he was young at the WJC, but I wasn't all that impressed personally. Kind of has an awkard stride and hunches when he skates. Not that those are glaring issues, just some nitpicky things. I don't want to move Nurse because he is the one Dman we have in the system that isn't soft.
I hope Yakupov has a bounce back year, if he doesn't we may have to sell low on him or maybe Eakins is gone. Hard to say at this point. No reason to move Yak now. I don't think Tallon would have much interest anyway.
If we plan on moving one of our Left handed defenseman, it should be for an established guy, IMO.

I will be submitting my final research analysis to the New England Journal of Medicine for peer review. Will most certainly be posting a summary here of course. My only hope is that if I kill him a few years earlier than he is killing himself, that at least one person, mammal or rodent, can be saved by my research. |

The stock on either is low. I too haven't given up on Yak. I think he could easily fill the number two winger spot this year. I don't like the way Eakins has played him. Hopefully he has got a better grasp of how to treat young NHL talent and gives Yak a shot this year out of the gate. Some confidence in the kid could might just make him a star. |

So as you were saying about not wasting peoples time.
If MacT is right in what he says about getting a number 1 dman. What do you think are his odds. With the little we have for trade UFA looks the best. Would you consider Nsk at 27 to be a top 2? - Hall Fan
Niskanen is going to get way too much money from somebody this summer. I hope we don't bid anything stupid. |

If he doesn't get 1st line PP time next year I'm gonna have to go Tonya Harding on Eakins ass which will greatly please Alex oil |

MacT doesn't want to admit he (frank)ed up by firing Krueger and hiring Eakins. I don't see him being fired until end of the season. Especially if we're in the running for McDavid/ Eichel. I would rather have Eichel. God I hope we're not that bad next season. |
