Odds are if you are trading a #3 pick you are getting a damn good player. The risk of trading down and drafting 6th is you didn't fix your team and you risk current superstars wanting out.

Team needs to be fighting for the playoffs all year next year or look out rebuild #2.

Partially correct. Lowe is a (frank)ing idiot, most would agree there... The money thing is probably a comment that came from the lockout? I'm sure we can all agree that many of the NHL players looked like greedy, ungrateful pieces of sh1t during that.

Honestly it all depends what the (frank) happens from the end of the playoffs until the draft.

While I'd usually say there is a chance of being a part of those couple summer deals I don't think MacT waits that long. He goes hard at the draft and whatever he misses he goes harder in free agency.

The real wild card is going to be what ownership of various teams mandate. You have some teams that are going to be spending less next year already. How many more get that mandate after the playoffs? All of a sudden you find out that Team A as a top pairing d-man and all they want is picks and prospects and things change. You move a Nurse or Marincin or Klefbom that you earlier didn't want to.
