Can Pacioretty count as 2 considering he had 39 goals? - Scabeh
nope......can only count him as 1.95 |

i think for him to be considered a bust, someone will have to give him close to 5 mil, or more, and more than a 2-3 year deal.
i just cant' see anybody doing that.........but i could be wrong |

i don't deny that heatley was one of the best pure goal scorers in teh league. he had an ability to get open, and had a great shot...........but that was about all he had.
he was a terrible skater, wasn't a very good two-way player, didn't really drive possession, not much of a playmaker.
he needed great linemates in order to be a great player, he wasn't the kind of guy that would elevate the play of his linemates. that's what i meant by Heatley lite. - sensarmy_11
Actually Heatley was a good two-way player. He killed a ton of penalties, he wasn't lazy getting back, he actually boxed players out well and wasn't afraid to hit guys or rough it up. And Heatley had more assists than goals in each year he was with the Senators, so although his primary role was sniper, he was a good playmaker. He was a great player, an outstanding player in fact.
However, his conditioning was never good, he had injuries, and the strain of his exit from Ottawa and subsequently San Jose clearly messed with his head. Post lockout, Dany Heatley was one of the very best hockey players in the NHL, not just a goal scorer. |

Nothing eliminates credibility faster than; poor grammar and poor spelling. As the owner and chief writer for Hockeybuzz, one would have to think that you should/would be able to eliminate these problems. I enjoy this site quite a bit, but when something like this happens continually, it erodes the said credibility that I KNOW you have taken great pride in establishing. There is a lot more to proof reading than pressing "spell check". I would assume that you know this...but come on. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I expect more from you!! |

Such a silly question but I'll give you another hit. Michalek will never be a late bloomer, in fact injuries have caught up with him and he is no longer a desirable top six play on any nhl team. End of story, no way the Sens resign him unless he plays for free, lol. |

yeah, i kind of admitted that it was impossible to look impartially at heatley......based on what happened when he left.
it's similar to yashin, it's hard to say good things, and very easy to focus solely on the negatives.
he was definitely a great player while he was here, no doubt..............and yes, that hurt to admit. |

That's false... 2 of the 4 reg seasons ith OTT he didn't have more As than Gs, 1 of 4 if you count playoffs (in 07/08 he had 41g/41a, plus 1a in 7 playoff games). |

Michalek is a gritty two way forward that had success playing with great centers like Spezza and Thornton - but his injury problems (knee issue) along with his inconsistent point scoring has disabled him from ever being a superstar.
Good team mate, can finish some gritty goals (maybe a highlight once a year max) but he is nothing more than a 2nd-3rd line winger that a team should take a 1 or 2 year risk on at 3-3.5M

How many times did you read this over before hitting submit, just to be sure there wasn't a single spelling or grammar mistake?

i like michalek, he works hard, is responsible in all 3 zones, and at times can be a good sniper.
so, imo, michalek could be a good signing as a depth winger, on the 2nd or 3rd line.....a guy who'll contribute 15 or so goals, can kill penalties if required, and provides a veteran presence. i think if a team can get him at 4 mil or so, it's a low risk signing for a pretty decent all around player - sensarmy_11
sooooo...... we should resign him and put him alonside Zibby??

Do you even follow the Sens? Because anyone who does knows that his superstar potential faded with his various knee injuries and surgeries. That said, the Sens still came on top in getting him for Healthy Scratch Heatley!! |

yea I'm a late bloomer too
The Islanders? I'm not so sure what the Islanders have been thinking lately. Acquire and mature Tavares, Macdonald, Moulson, Strome on the way.. more picks on the way... see the chemistry between your FRANCHISE player, and this hidden gem Moulson, see the mid pairing stability of macdonald.. and then what.. break it all up? Now was the time to KEEP what you had, and add to it. Not ruin the last 5 years of building. dumb movie. |

Go easy on him, he's an MTL fan... they only had 1 player this year with over 20g, so anything in the 15-20g range is awesome for them. - KarlKarlsson

i didn't realize that a team you have no association with what so ever, being in the playoffs, justified your complete inability to understand what you read.

Not many, hopefully - considering the completely unnecessary semicolon and the fact that he said "erodes the said credibility".
Both are telltale signs of someone without a true understanding of the language trying their hardest to sound like a masterful writer. |
