he was great on the sharks now that he's older it's a different story - 2Real
Meh...he's a one dimensional, physical guy. He can get destroyed by speed. As soon as the puck gets near him they attack him and he turns it over.
It's not good to be a soft team, but almost every shift he's on the ice, the Bruins have the Habs pinned in their own end. |

I wonder if Markov gets a multi-year deal in the open market. He seems to have solved his knee issues. Probably 3 years, no?

Yeah...blocking a lot of shots generally means you often don't have the puck. |

Lecavalier looked fine in the beginning of the year, playing at Center before the injury. He was one of their better players in the first 20 games or so. I think it's obvious he needs to play Center. If they're not going to play him at center, it's probably best to look to move him if they can. The experiment of moving him away from Center, didn't work this past Season. If he's not a fit for the way Berube wants to play, then trade him. |

I don't believe that to be true. Even the best possession teams in the League only have the puck about 56% of the time. That leaves plenty of opportunity to block shots.

Rumor was he wanted 5...I like him, but I go back and forth. 3 years would be great, but they still have multiple years left on Coburn, MacDonald, Grossmann, Schenn and Streit. That means not a lot for Gostisbehere, Morin or Hagg in a few years |

I think, ideally, the team should move one of their lumberers for a more skilled defenseman.
I think if they bring in a guy like Niskanen, Markov or Stralman, they'll look to move Grossmann or Schenn. |

Boudreau is doing something desperate. The Kings are getting better goaltending, but it's not the biggest reason why the Ducks are losing |

I agree. Not necessarily with those players. But tweak the mix in that direction.

Wow, 5 years!!!!! I like to think Hexy is pretty committed to at least one of the young bucks to crack the top 6 next season. I believe they really hope Kimmo wants to play one more year and use MacDonald to eat up a lot of even strength and PK work to limit Kimmo to about 17 minutes/gm.

Agreed, and it's what they should do.
You don't want to get too "soft" for lack of a better word, but the one dimensional make-up of their defense means you can get burned if it comes to match ups. It's like the Gus vs Grossmann conversation...they lacked the speed and puck skills Gus brings. Obviously he can't be the physical guy Grossmann can, but the Flyers really needed somebody that can move the puck.
Ideally, you have guys that can do a bit of both. I'd rather have a couple Josh Georges than Grossmann and Gustafsson |

They could use Timonen back, and add another minutes eater.
