I probably like Phaneuf then most, I just think giving him the captaincy in that market is lunacy. They almost need to trade for a captain like the Flyers did with Jason Smith. I believe Phaneuf can excel when he is not the main focus of the team. - ravishingone
Its tough to be captain in Toronto. Phaneuf is not cut out for that pressure. I dont think they can just acquire someone for that. They need a guy with a pedigree and some push back for the media. |

He's at 40% of the Bruins games...needs to play 2/3rds with them making the ECF to bump the pick up to a 2nd |

I think he's played 4 or 5 out of 11 games. Its very unlikely they get the pick unless there is an injury to their starting lineup. |

really he's played in that many? That's awesome. I didn't think he was anywhere near that since it seemed like he hasn't played in a while
EDIT: Of course, if he keeps getting scratched....welp |

With the contract extension, it is going to be nearly impossible to strip him of the captaincy. They would have to trade him. I mainly question who in the room for the Leafs can rally the troops. Certainly no one stepped up at the end of this season.

Is it 2/3rds when they eliminate the Habs or 2/3rds whenever their season ends after making the ECF? Say if Mesz had to step in for some games in the ECF or SCF...
Slim chance that happens but just curious. |

Speaking of the Craps, it is going to be really interesting to see what happens to that roster. Have they even named a GM yet?

I dont think so. They have an interesting roster. Some decent talent, but a group that doesn't seem to fit well together. |

Pulled, with coach telling team he didn't deserve to be left out to dry like they had done. So they go out in second period and don't allow a shot. |

Ducks starting Gibson...no pressure kid, save us!! - Jsaquella
mission accomplished. goose egg.
i didn't see the game, but i'm stunned by quick getting pulled after the first period. 2 goals on 11 shots. we've seen worse. and sutter left quick in for that absolute poopshow beat down by the sharks in the first round. i'm at a complete loss here. |

oh yeah, is that right? how do you explain him leaving quick in for 7 goals against the sharks? if there were ever a game to take out your guy that was it, and not because he played poorly. that game was the definition of hanging your goalie out to dry. |

i'm at the point where i can overlook his cocky/immature behavior for the skill he has. the shot from the point...just wow. i don't think i've ever seen a guy call for the puck like that. the kid can flat out play. |
