IMO, just sit tight, make a minor addition (or two) for stop-gap right-handed puck-moving D, wait for the kids. They're still not within a stone's throw of the Rangers/Pens, much less B's/Kings/'Hawks.

Id like to see that if a great deal doesn't come along. I see no problem discussing all options though.

While I think the bidding for Niskanen is going to get ridiculous, I would consider trying to sign Stralman if they can get him for a number that they like.

Give me some low-flying aircraft, a team of 8 ninjas, 5000 feet of steel cable, and a bottle of chloroform. I'll have Weber in a Flyers jersey by 8 AM.

I would keep all options open, but I wouldn't commit myself to anything. If things dont break right, then just walk away. If Niskanen is only going to cost $6M, then I think thats enticing. If Stralman will only cost $4M then thats enticing.

I feel this team has committed to signing players no matter what the cost. They can't do that anymore. If they come into next season with an underwhelming defense then so be it.

I'm looking at Fayne and Redmond as the two potentially huge value adds from UFA. Both are righties, capable two-way players, and have good size. Really think Fayne's got some hidden offense in his stick on a more shoot-happy team, and Redmond's buried behind Buff/Trouba/Bogo/Postma but still has a lot of potential.

You can't be too careful. We might have to pull a lot of people out of some sticky situations fast. You've seen The Dark Knight, right?

I think he's a player in the mold of Jason Garrison/Johnny Boychuk. The decent puck-skills are all there, he just hasn't been able to dent the scoresheet.

We should trade for/sign Bryz, as a backup.

We'll see. I've never gotten that sense from watching him. I've always thought of him as a more stay at home type.

He went all Erik Karlsson one year for the Pro B's... like 20+ goals and ppg, something crazy like that.

He has a rocket of a shot. Its not always the most accurate thing. I wouldn't feel comfortable being the net front guy on his shots.

B's, Kings, Hawks? Ok. Rangers and Pens? The Flyers are close.
