I agree. VL will bounce back. He played through all sorts of injuries last season. Lets not pull a JVR and sell low again after the injury bug hits. At $4.5 million VL is not a horrible contract right now. jmo - moylander
I'm shocked that nobody else has this sort of mindset or logic. One bad season and everyone wants to walk away. No disrespect intended.
Vincent Lecavalier is still very much a weapon for this team. |

Ever since the Rangers (frank)ed up on their PP (as usual) about half way through the period, it's been all Pens - Giroux_Is_God
the pens pp with kreider in the box was just awful. all that puck movement...sooooo sloooooooowly...and generated nothing. they used to have a very quick pp. i don't know what happened to them. |

i've said several times that it's entirely possible he rebounds next season, and would be great if he did. just the other day i mentioned we ought not to discount a player adapting to a new city, team, etc after playing for so many years in one place. sometimes it takes a whole season for it to click. they're human.
that said, if the flyers walk away without being raped in the process, i'm fine with that. |

Vinny has something to prove and with the right linemates and a little consistancy he should recover well, The fact that we took an All-Star Center who has always played Center and tried him at wing has to be considered, Its not as easy as Homer makes it sound, His days bringing the puck through the zone himself are gone but he can still be worth every penny in the right role. |

Yeah. I feel like this game and this series can go either way. I dont have a feel on it. - PhillySportsGuy
My gut says the series is over after tonight.
Like Freddy always said...just a hunch. |

I'm perfectly fine with keeping VINNY. Trading him away for a fouth and eating any of the contract doesn't make us a better team. We basically lose a 20 goal scorer simply because we've decided we don't want him anymore. I think this makes our team worse. |

I agree with this.
However, what if they send him out for a 4th to clear space for a player like Niskanen?
It's gonna be interesting |

Every player on the Flyers had worse numbers while playing with VL. He cannot play wing and he's not good enough to play in the top 3 centers on the Flyers. |

I look at Niskanen as being a knee jerk reaction like trading for Streit's rights or re-signing MacDonald before the playoffs start. We want a number one defenseman and we'll expect Niskanen to play like one but he won't. He'll play good enough for us but I'm doubting at the level we're hoping for. |

I certainly believe so, but that's a tough call either way. I wouldn't want to be the ref there |

a bit, but he didn't have to put his elbow out and plow into maf without trying to get out of the way. |

He was pushed, but he didn't exactly make a strong effort to get out of the way. I thought it should have been no goal, but no penalty. |

So this game is looking like another NJ Devils from the 90s specials. Penguins carrying the game, puck possession yet trails. Like the Kings last night. |
