I am truly at a crossroads with my feelings on tonight's game, while I so badly want Bylsma fired I don't want it to come at the cost of us losing another deciding home game. If there was a way for us to win the Stanley cup and still get Bylsma fired I am all for it, because after all he is a TURD.

I'm right there with you. I want Dan gone, but I could NEVER root for a loss. Oh and I don't think Dan is a turd, but I do believe he's reached his shelf life with this team. In corporate speak... "It's time for a new message and a fresh set of eyes."

+1000.

Its a total double standard and just more of the "Penguins meltdown" narrative that people that don't like the team want to convey.

- Emperor Filonius

Boston's core has been to 2 cups and won 1. Pens core samething. Ours is a little more dated only difference. If Boston loses to Montreal I consider that a meltdown. At the beginning of the playoffs I said Boston's weakness was the same as ours last season. Everyone was telling us how good we were and we were going to win the cup. And we believed it. Montreal is playing a great series. Either team that wins that series is going to be a handful

So while watching the end of the B's/Habs game and seeing the scrum that ensued... which IMO was way worse than anything that has happened in the Pens series.... Regis McGuire said "Bruins are just sending a message for game 7 letting Montreal know that were still here and we're going to come to play"..... My question is aside from an anti Penguins bias (even though he wouldn't have his name on the cup without them)....

Why when the pens engage in end of game extracurricular activities are we frustrated and melting down?.... While Iginla crosschecks a guy in the neck repeatedly.... Lucic punches a guy in the head...etc etc.... this is just hard nosed hockey and message sending.

Maybe Crosby was telling the Rags "You better be ready cause I'm going 150% for 60 minutes Tuesday night so try and legally stop me"

Sometimes I hate the NHL... love hockey... but hate the NHL

- Yonk1216

Maybe. But the thing about Crosby is that when he is at his best he is almost cyborg like. He doesn't show emotion outside of scoring goals.

When he gets suckered into that after whistle stuff he is off his game. Maybe he will use it to refocus for the next game, but in game 6 he was taken away from what he does best.

Players like Lucic, Iginla, and Marchand they thrive off the extra curricular activities so it helps them to focus. Iginla is at his best when he is a little angry. But he plays a force game.

Why do I have a feeling we are going to have the same coach and same core going into next year even if we lose game 7 tonight? I'm not sure Shero has the balls to make a statement or two to say this is unacceptable.

I saw more inspiration from Iggy at the end of last nights game for 30 seconds then I saw for him the entire time he was here last year.

Yep. I don't know if it is because he has spent a whole season as a Bruin vs 15 games as a Penguin but he's been good for the Bruins.

You know, I think this is what pisses off people about Penguins fans. You call basically every team a lesser team (save for maybe Boston). Well, news flash: if they beat you, it's possible (maybe possible) that they are a better team. Maybe they played poorly in the games you beat them. You may have the better high-profile superstars, but maybe they are a better TEAM top-to-bottom. It's like people in San Francisco county who think they're better because of their clean Earth/anti-corporation views. Just because you have a high-powered offense does not automatically make you a better team.
- jmatchett383

By definition of the team being a lower seed, and finishing 13 points behind them in the standings over the course of an 80 game season, they are a lesser team. It doesn't mean that they suck or that they aren't a good team, but that they are a lower seeded team that going into the playoffs was not generally considered by anyone outside of New York to be a serious contender to win a cup. Hence a lesser team.

Neal is part of the problem, not all. The fact is Neal very well could be ticketed elsewhere, if this series ends in complete embarrassment. Losing a 3-1 lead to sorry, a lesser team, isn't good - especially the way this has unfolded.

However, a trade of Neal doesn't really do much for the roster. It doesn't make an impact. It doesn't change the culture. A deal of Letang would; a deal of Malkin would. Letting Stempniak, Orpik, and pick your UFA walk doesn't do it.

- Oneonta Penguin

So I gotta ask since you always do...

Who you trading Malkin to? Btw I'm not necessarily against it but after perusing for trade partners that make sense, there aren't many.

Tell you what ... address my questions to you yesterday before I do the same.

1. What do you expect in return for James Neal if he is a one trick pony and you diminish his numbers?
2. How does a "one trick only" and a prospect like Despres who is obviously out of the plans for the Pens nab you a Ryan Kesler type based on your comments of James Neal?
3. What does acquiring prospects in a potential James Neal trade do for the Pens in 2014-2015?
4. What free agents are you interested in seeing the Pens go after since you seem to think there is alot of value in a pool that isn't deemed as good?

I don't know about this.

I remember early in his career, you could almost see the disgust on Sid's face when he played Philly (after the Hatcher dental plan his rookie year) and he always showed up to play and, almost every time, dominated the game. He DID get involved chirping and with all the post-whistle stuff. That seemed to fuel him at the time. I always thought the Flyers were stupid for getting him riled up.

Now, its the complete opposite. When he gets involved with that stuff, it throws him totally off his game and the league knows it.

I don't know why the change?

So was Philadelphia a "lesser" team in 2012? Was Tampa Bay a "lesser" team in 2011? Was Montreal a "lesser" team in 2010? If so, you guys really have a problem with these lesser teams. After a while, maybe it's not the case.

Question ... if Philly was playing Edmonton in a best of seven series right now, what would you call Edmonton? I'm not equating the Rags to Edmonton. That would be retarded. However, Pittsburgh had 12 more points during the regular season and led the league in man games missed by a wide margin. If not for that, we win the division by 25 points probably. Sorry it pisses you off. Yes, TB was the lesser team in 2011 and Montreal in 2010. We have lost play-off series to lesser teams.

JMO but I think he was shocked to come here and find himself in a position change and no role on the PP. He basically was marginalized. That can't be good for anybody's attitude, let alone a first ballot HOF'r.

I think one of Dan's worst mistakes since he's been here was to not take advantage of Iggy's right handed cannon on the PP.....especially since they couldn't buy a goal in the Boston series.

Good point, but even with out those two, we were playing some pretty impressive hockey. The Pens found a way that year to score enough goals without those two and played more responsible defense. We had a 3-1 lead in that series as well.

Honestly, I wouldn't ever use the term "lesser' team, because it's pretty damn demeaning. I'll call them a lower seed, and a team that, statistically and in view of recent history, we should beat. But come playoff time, very team can pull off an upset of any team. I don't think any NHL team should be called a "lesser" team though, especially when some of them may be able to play a team game that the "superior" team can't handle.

If you keep losing to these "lesser' teams, then maybe it's you guys who are the "lesser" team in the end, despite your gawdy regular season records.

I think one of the worst mistakes was Shero acquiring him in the first place. This "you only get a chance to acquire Jarome Iginla once" bullpoop got me shaking my head. I remain steadfast in saying he was trying to keep him away from Boston. It's not like we needed him on the power play. We were ranked the tops in the league at that point. We didn't need his edge either after we overpaid for Brandon Morrow. He became redundant and quite frankly not needed.
