Completely agree... Rangers have all of the confidence right now, and after being down 3-1 can almost feel like they are playing with house money.
Pens on the other hand feel like a house of cards, where a stiff breeze might blow then over. - rival22

Penguins should hire Bill Cowher for a pre-game speech. I know I'd listen to him. |

The rangers are scoring "playoff goals" and the Pens continue to be fascinated with the east-west pass. My definition of "play off" goals...they are earned in the front of the net and are not always pretty, but they are goals. Pens want the pretty ones. - pghbirdman
Someone has convinced them that style points matter and that you can get credit for 2 goals if you make enough passes & the goal is pretty enough. (only conclusion that makes a damn bit of sense) |

Are they using Pro Beach Hockey rules, the league with the 3-point line? |

It's like the definition of insanity too.... "If I keep trying this cross ice pass, it just has to work...' |

At least the visor thing is mandatory now or you would spend more time wiping spit out of your eyes than actually listening. |

Where did I type "trade all of these people"? How do you get that I want to trade everyone out of my post? They are just odds of each individual being moved.
Yup I hate Neal. You seem to endorse him. I know a playoff performer when I see one. I know a guy you can win with when I see one. He aint that guy.
Don't have time to type out trade scenarios for all of the above so I'll focus on Neal.
Neal will be moved in one of 2 ways:
1. As part of a package deal (something involving him and/or Despres or one of the younger d-men). This is most likely IMO. They will get back a forward player with javascript:emoticon('')some grit and skill. Yup, like a Kesler type player.
2. For a younger winger prospect to basically free up the cap space so they can target someone they like more. So, they would in essence get back a young wing prospect plus a FA winger. Nets you 2 players for him.
One more thing about Neal...look up his career stats.
Everyone calls him a 40 goal scorer. How many 40 goals seasons do you see? Hell, how many 30 goals seasons do you see?
I see one very good year and a whole bunch of decent ones.
Then, you want the true story? Look at his playoff stats. 37 games, 11 goals. He has only scored goals in 7 of his 37 playoff games in a Pens uni.
You want that dude on your team come playoff time? If you say Yes, I want to be the coach playing your team. - 87_71_11_29
Let Jokinen, Stemoniak, Goc all walk, along with almost every other UFA. This comes from another thread. All you are about is trading or letting everyone walk without talking about solutions. Adding Despres to Neal subtracts from the return. It doesn't add to it. The only deal that makes sense and impact for Kesler and something that Vancouver might bite on is a straight Letang for Kesler swap. They need a PMD, we need grit, plus Kesler doesn't want to be there.
Trade Neal for prospects. How nice. And then you not only are looking for a winger for Sid again, but another one for Malkin and quite possibly two if Jokinen walks. Have you looked at the free agent list there? I don't think you have. Why? Because there are no long term answers out there. Everyone is a third line guy, or on their last legs in the league. Trading him for prospects isn't smart and doesn't help Pittsburgh in 2014-2015 for starters.

I haven't packed it in, but the truth is whoever wins this series is going to be the steak that's thrown into the Lions cage anyway. - canadianpenfan
Thats how it looks right now if they were to play anything close to how they did the past 2 gms against boston it would b another sweep. Sid looks really frustrated he's got to respond differently everyone knows how to get him off his game. Keep calm and carry on pens |

His teams no showed quite a bit in big games as well. See AFC Championship losses while being dismantled by Brady. The only difference is he would go borderline Tortorella afterwards instead of saying things like "Scuderi has played some of his best hockey for us in these playoffs this year". |

Where does Kesler fit? If I'm the Penguins, I'd rather keep Sutter, as there's no chance Kesler supplants Sid/Geno, and he's a natural center (Iginla being moved gives credence to play guy at their natural positions).
But yes, a mass dumping for the sake of dumping would not do any good. Neal could likely land you a first-rounder plus a winger (Washington 1st + Brouwer?). Whatever the deals are, they have to be deals to win NOW, not in 5 years. The Pens window is here, and as crazy as it sounds, it won't be there for long. |

In the end, he won a Super Bowl he had no right even being in. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Steelers fan. I guess that kind of coach, the one who'd grab you by your helmet and let you know when he was pissed at you, worked better for me than the soothing "all is well" coach. |

They won 3 games in round one when trailing by 2 goals - dbell646
They also choked away two games in round one when leading by two goals.
I'm talking more about a situation like last night. Down 3-1 going into the third. It is still possible to come back from that...for most teams. But the fragile mentality of this team makes them incapable of doing it.
Most of the games that they come back in, they fall down early and have 40-45 minutes to come back. They can inch there way back. But in a situation where they need some desperation and intensity they falter. |

That pretty much sums up the offense for the past few years during the Spring time. Nobody crashes the net on this team. The frustrating thing about this season is that in my 30+ years of watching hockey I can't recall ever seeing a team just play w/o heart or soul as visibly as this one.
As a fan, it's win/win for me. Win, they move and who know's? Lose, and it's another collapse in the books and I get to enjoy watching the fallout and change of direction. |

So we now have conclusive proof that Dan either desperately needs new glasses or has been on LSD for the entire playoffs. This would explain a number of things. |
