Even if nothing else, a win is needed because frankly, I enjoy being able to remind Rangers fans that they have NEVER beaten us in a 7 game series. If they win and get crushed by Boston, and requisite changes still get made, that would be one bit of small consolation.

Unless you've always taken the high road I wouldn't pass judgement. It's an emotional game poop happens. Get over it

Its taking too looong!

I threw an edit on the comment your referencing and no, I dont always take the high road. But in hockey I've never had my teammates clean up for me. The worst kinds of teammates I ever had would stir the pot to a boil and skate away or hop the boards. It's very annoying.

FASTEST TWO GOALS:

2 secs - Calgary Hitmen at Red Deer, Oct. 3, 1998, against Red Deer Rebels, third period. Pavel Brendl scored at 19:40 and Brad Moran at 19:42. Hitmen won 6-4.

Seriously, how is that even possible? Somebody was slow starting the clock.

- canadianpenfan

Im actually curious how that happened or could theoretically happen. Even if a penalty is taken after the 1st goal is scored, the faceoff still has to come out to center. JVR tied NHL record for fastest goal to open a period this year at 4 seconds. I just dont see how that is possible to score 2 goals 2 seconds apart.

Full props to the Rags, they could have laid down in game 5 but i think the story is the team rallying around MSL. As a guy whos mother died at an early age, i feel for Marty and everything thats happened says the Pens don't have what it takes to get it down. When it comes down to it, its Flower vs the Swede, geee who would you pick in a deciding game? I can sit here and criticize specific Pens players, but i am not putting this collapse of Flower. After last season, i never wanted to see him in a Pens uni again, but Sid has just been terrible and an embarrassment to the franchise. If i was HCDB i would have healthy scratched him a few games ago, but i think Dan knows his fate and will be fired promptly after they are eliminated. Not to say he isnt an outstanding coach, i really think he is, but this is how the biz works. So i sit here criticizing players on the team i root for, id like to make a parting shot though, D Moore is a classless scrub, and if the Pens go down in 7, i really wouldnt mind Neal taking his head off in Neals last game as a Pen.

I think I read about it. Basically, after the first goal, the center won the faceoff straight back with a ton of force and the goalie just whiffed.

What??????? He's had a bad series, but you're calling Sidney Crosby an embarrassment to the franchise? You, sir, are insane. And wanting a player to take a player's head off due to one (fairly small) incident? Geez, you sound like a Flyers fan.

We're talking about 2 teams who have very similar mental problems. Both teams can dominate any other team, both teams are fragile to the smallest adversity. Thats why we see this ridiculous jekyll and hyde game from both sides. Games 2, 3, and 4, you could easily argue that the Rangers didn't show up. Virtually 0 offense in game 2. Pens owned the puck the entire game, Rangers couldn't skate, couldn't make a pass, couldn't outlet, couldn't do anything on the PP, couldn't defend, Hank couldn't make a save. Its really a battle of wills between these 2 teams. Skill is not a question, Pens have offensive superiority, Rangers have defensive superiority, and I think Hank is better than Fleury. But all of that is moot when you talk about shattered confidence, which both teams seem to be too prone to happen. Neither team is iron willed, have enough mental strength to overcome these swings, thats why its so important to start strong for either team.

Lack of discipline, all top players go up against the best D men, but most of them take like a man, and in most cases a leader, and Sid has been mostly invisible, in the end HCDB has to live and die by Sid

ANY COACH would live and die by Sid. He's the best player in the NHL. If a coach ever chose to healthy scratch him in a playoff game, he should be fired on the spot.

Perhaps, but when youre getting more production from Sutter, its a coaches job to get through the players. Im not saying you are wrong, but what the hell does it take for a player that is the face of a franchise to grow a few

I get it, because his old coach said that 2 years ago (and was laughed at in his hometown media). It's funny because it's wrong. Got me.

Some guy, can't think of his name, is the all-time CHL scoring leader. Played 3 NHL games.

Some guy are just incapable of playing in the NHL after dismantling the junior leagues.

I just mean I can't believe he didn't turn into a big time player based on how good he was in juniors. He was dominant, those Hitmen teams were stacked and he was the best of the bunch.

Dont act like it was one incident, its been an all series, Sid speared him in response to him holding his stick, to me that one in game 6 was a push. If i hated a player because he was effective id be hatin on Brassard, and im not, he has been outstanding and deserves full marks

Haha, you act like he's some horrible goon who's the only player in NHL history to constantly torment a star player throughout a playoff series. It happens EVERY SERIES. Heck, Jack Johnson was doing far worse to him throughout the first round.

Would that be former Penguin prospect Stan Drulia, or do I have the wrong league? He had a very long and successful minor league career.

Just messin with you man, when hes healthy hes probably top 5 in the league i think, maybe i dont watch all their games, but just my two cents

I am perhaps one of the few that likes the flyers, fun and brutal brand of hockey and best rivalry for sure, has made all of our stomachs turn last few years though
