I hope Timonen accepts his fate and chooses to walk away from the game (at least in the NHL). I feel like the Flyers will sign him if he doesn't. |

I really don't want the flyers to sign him. I feel like he would struggle a lot in limited minutes. These old guys they need to see a lot of minutes to stay loose and be effective most times. I think Kimmo is like that. Unfortunately what he brings is just not good enough to log the heavy minutes anymore. |

Justin Williams takes an ill advised slapshot from the circle instead of setting up the offense with the goalie pulled, it goes wide, rattles around the glass, and out of the zone. Game over
Next stop: bed.

How good has Colorado been in recent years up until this season? - SuperSchennBros
Colorado was coming off a playoff berth. Elliott struggled badly there, after getting traded for Craig Anderson.
I just don't see him as a starter. At best I think he gets signed by a team that's looking for a guy to split time, kind of like the Flyers were last summer, when they were not 100% sold on Mason and signed Emery to be a safety net/split time.
Still, he's one of about 6 guys I named as potential replacements for Emery. I'm more concerned with a guy being able to play if called upon than if he feels he's a back up or not. |

he also tried to weave through traffic and get over the line before that, which turned into a dump out. horrendous play. |

Elliott was a deadline deal for Anderson. The Aves were already a bad team that year. The playoff birth prior was because the Aves weighted heavily on how good Anderson was. The Aves were bad after 2010 and continued to be until this season.
Brian Elliott was deserving voted into the All Star Roster for the All Star game.
A lot of good that Ryan Miller pick up did for the Blues when it mattered most. |

Didn't Hextall say that sometimes you need to take 2 steps back to take 3 forward?
I think we can stop assuming that every possible move they make in the next few months will be from the perspective of getting better in 14-15. - Tomahawk
I'm already aiming for 2016 to be stronger than 2015. Not because I hate the roster the Flyers have now -- I actually don't. It's more that I am hopeful Ghost or Hagg or Alt truly earn roster spot(s) and make the defense better, while other young players like Raffl and Laughton, even the Schenn's and Couturier, have truly broken out.
That is my hope. Not saying 2014-15 is a throwaway. Just that I think 2016 could be a stronger year. |

Brian Elliott? The guy who has been below league average for pretty much every team he's played on except St Louis? He's had two seasons in his NHL career when his save % was over .910. - Jsaquella
But he didn't have grossman in front of him to block all the shots |

What exactly has made us a better team since trading Carter and Richards? As it stands our playoff record prior to trading them was much better. This isn't to same I hate nor blame what we already have.
I say pair Grossmann with somebody better than Mark Streit. - SuperSchennBros
Streit did much better in terms of goals scored and goals conceded when paired with other players.
Grossmann did much worse when he wasn't playing with Streit.
Streit was not the problem. |

The bottom line is, Elliott has had one exceptional year as a starter, along with several mediocre ones & one awful one....in other words, he's basically a mediocre starter or back up
The Ryan Miller addition has nothing to do with it. The Blues obviously felt that neither Elliott or Halak could carry the load in the playoffs. Unfortunately for them, neither could Miller. How that means Elliott is a good or bona fide starter somehow escapes me. |
