Also, Read had an 11-game cup of coffee in the AHL at the tail end of 10-11. He posted 13 points (7G, 6A) in those 11 games. Basically, he showed that he had the ability to succeed at the pro level. If Leier goes to the AHL and lights it up the same way, he'll most likely get a call-up at some point in the season next year. - jmatchett383

Hey everyone, here's a question for you: what ever happened to the "message sending will be met with a suspension" protocol? You know, the one that got Carcillo (F him!) suspended for one game, but let 5 Bruins player basically jump the Canadiens last night? Just curious.
Oh, and message sending or not, Lucic should be suspended for game 7 for 2 sucker punches. |

I still don't get the massive amount of Penguins hate. There is a hate of certain players on the Penguins, but I hate any player who is wearing a Rangers (or Devils) jersey. To me, it's not even close. I hate the Rangers today, and have always hated them. I hate the Devils today, and have since 1994. I dislike the some of the Penguins players today, but only have since 2005 or later. - jmatchett383
For the most part I agree, I just can't stress how much I hate Crosby and Neal though. I truly, truly hate those guys. |

I don't know about MAF. Depends on how he plays if they lose.
Bylsma is almost certainly gone and St. Ray Shero will definitely be on the hot seat. - johndewar
The problem with MAF is that 1) he's actually not playing TOO poorly, and 2) unless they wanna pay Miller, their best choice would be to roll with Zatkoff as their #1.
That team is in a win-now mode. They need answers and quick. So MAF is basically their guy. |

He looked good last night. Portland's PP looked like the Rangers though. An awful second period doomed them. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm sure he did, but lets not forget it was against teenagers

Which is fine, and I agree. And I'll add Malkin in there too (slew foots and elbows galore). But the thing is, if you take them off the Penguins roster, the hate basically goes away. Not so with the Rangers and Devils. |

Nonsense. That's like saying Pavel Brendl didn't become an NHL superstar. |

I want to see Matt Read get a chance to take a bigger bite out of scoring line role.
He is a plug him in and forget him type of player who plays in all three zones, plays gritty, contributes offense, and prevents goals against. - MBFlyerfan
In rare instances he was on the top line in the beginning of the year. He was less than impressive. He had a tough time with corner battles against the top dmen.
I'd be willing to give it another look, but not holding my breath. I don't think he's top line material |

i was undecided but a couple years back, while watching a devils pens game, i noticed each time nj scored i was "meh" and each time the pens scored i wanted to smash my tv and torture small animals.....it occurred to me that for some reason i just hate the pens more. upon further review it might be similar to the detest i feel for a team like the cowboys: constantly picking, trading or developing the top players (having tony dorSETT and emmit smith)....they get mario and crosby and malkin and when we suck we don't get patrick kane.....
ohhhhhh, somebody get me a small animal....stat |

More than the thought of Dan Carcillo, Brian Boyle, and Derek Dorsett skating around holding the Cup wearing Rangers jerseys? |

i was thinking that while watching the last minutes play out. clearly every bruin on the ice got a punch to the face of the guy they were engaged w/.......i bet nothing happens. this was what i was saying to our pens fan friend: i would much rather have my team be able to get away with a bunch of borderline poope (like the pens and bruins do) than get more power plays.... |

I don't wish career ending injuries on athletes. I don't think that's right.
But when Carcillo splashed the glass after scoring against the Flyers and openly taunted the fans...... |

He and (recently) Sean Avery are 2 players where, short of being crippled/dying, I'm down with it. I don't want their quality of life to suffer, but would be happy if they never had any relevance to the NHL again. |

He's not really THAT BAD of a guy. He was just tired of living under someone else's rule where he had no power and was forced to obey the will of his superior, with no chance to improving his situation. So really, he's kinda the equivalent of George Washington and the members of the US Revolution. God bless you, Satan. |

I guess I would rather the Flyers be more agressive if the kid is ready. It's not like he will be relied on to score so your not hitching your wagon to him say as SJ was to Hertl. His role would be to kill penalties and play solid defense. His speed would be welcomed and he can produce so its not out of the question for him to pop a goal in here and there. Also say he is with someone like Coutorier and read that is a lot of speed out there on the wings with a smart center and it is not like Leier is just a finnesse player as games I watched he is ready to take contct. I think if he can make the team it allows more flexibility with lineup construction. |

The Rangers relinquish another first round pick if they reach the conference finals.
We can root for the Rags to win this game then lose in the next round. |

I think that his last name will be mispronounced by both Jackson and Coatsey if he ever makes the big show. Book it. |
