when giroux smashes a stick going to the bench, is that passion, or being a whiny female dog? - stayinthefnnet
No there were questions about Giroux in the beginning of the season. He has answered his critics. Still waiting for Crosby to answer his in the last 3 playoff years |

Even when he played center, his line consistently got outshot by the opposing team-and his lines tended to play sheltered minutes. The bottom line is, despite an acceptable goal total, Lecavalier didn't play well and didn't fit into the system Berube used well.
Was part of it injury? Probably. But he's been hurt in each of the last four seasons. At some point is has to be about finding guys that can fit in, rather than trying to make adjustments to fit one guy in. - Jsaquella
We signed him. He didn't sign us. Other teams wanted him and we could have let him go to any one of those teams. Period. We made our bed...

After a poopty start he turned it up and got them to the playoffs. It was enough this year that they got to the playoffs with the poor start they have had. Also it's not about what Crosby does it's about the way he behaves on the ice. If you can't see that then maybe you need to take your glasses off. Leadership isn't about performance it's about setting a example |

Wow...that would have been a horrible goal to give up..
I almost have to wonder if something is wrong with Crosby. I know the Rangers deserve credit but it is still amazing to see him shut down like this. |

I think theres something wrong with him too. He doesn't have the burst he normally does.
I would hate to see the Rangers win the game like this. They're just sitting back and waiting for odd man rushes. |

okay. how about this. for the record, i really respect giroux. think hes a fine player, captain, and all that. but see how easily we can turn things around?
maybe if he didnt suck so bad in the beginning, they wouldnt have needed that comeback. if just cleaning up your own poopty start to achieve mediocrity is your idea of leadership, thats a low threshold forr excellence.
and setting an example? crosby isnt a vocal leader, but he is renowned among the league as being one of the hardest workers in the league, even as being a superstar. would you like a stat to exemplify this? he was a fairly poor faceoff guy, worked at it, and is now one of the leagues best. that ability to still be the first one in and last one out to work as the face of the league sure is a good example. |

I was talking about this year. I don't see how one bad series makes you a bad leader. The Bruins blew a 3-0 series lead to the Flyers. It didn't make Chara a bad captain |

The Cup belongs to the East this year. Boston, Montreal, New York all deserving. My hoping is Boston for Iginla and I hate the other two teams... |

I'm objective and realistic. I root for him to do well, but also recognize that he's a bad fit. I'd love it if he wasn't playing poorly and dragging every line he joined down, but that's simply not the case.
It's the same with Grossmann. i'd love it if he was a better player. I'm no going to ignore his issues because he's a Flyer. I'm going to hope he can play better.
As a Flyers fan, I want the team to get better. If that means players on the current roster need to be gone, so be it. |
