Just the worst writer. The worst. He writes for the irrational fan. Should have traded for Bobby Ryan? Did he see what the Sens gave up? |

I love how he doesn't mention who should have been traded for Ryan. |

He mines this thread for ideas, I swear. Bobby Ryan? Schenn is still unsigned = gone? Fraude Giroux doesn't want it enough? Some very familiar refrains. |

Couturier was the Flyers' most dedicated defensive center and is a future Selke Trophy candidate if he ever gets his offensive numbers up. No reason he can’t be another Mike Richards if he bears down.

Glad to know that Couturier will, in 4 years, be named captain due to insane foot injuries causing Giroux to retire, only to be dealt to another team, alone with his best friend, to help that team win a Cup. |

I've defended Tim in the past, but I think he's way off with his Giroux remarks and his take on BSchenn. |

Easily the worst in-season deal that Holmgren made, dumping Max Talbot, the club’s best penalty-killing forward, for a guy with a reputation for inconsistent play and a penchant for taking dumb penalties.
How did they get by without superstar Max Talbot? Clearly this move destroyed us, as evidenced by our league worst PK. |

Schenn isn't signed yet for his first year of rfa. He's definitely gone. No chance of coming back.
Should have given up a first and Ghost for Bob Ryab. Would have solved all problems. |

Reading the comments section is even funnier.

Lol, and no mention of Downie kickstarting the moribund offense, either. Think Tim listed that trade in Homer's Worst Moves Evah article from a few days ago. |

I really like that language too, "easily the worst in-season deal". You'd think we made a hundred trades this season with that talk. |

Agreed.
Though choosing between the Rangers and Penguins is like choosing between Satan and Al Queda. - BiggE
I spend a lot of time in the Rangers threads, being their mod. I could not do the same thing in the Pens threads. This makes it easy for me to choose.
Plus, two of my best friends are Rangers STHs (one I got him the ticket partner) who take me to the Ranger/Flyer games there. Another reason it is easy for me to choose.
Finally, our corporate HQ is in Pittsburgh. Third reason's a charm. |

And Boston squirting Subban while he was on the ice. I'm sure it's happened before, but is the water squirting becoming more prominent because of the instigator penalty? - wolfhounds

Technically, it has the possibility of rendering shot-metrics obsolete, so maybe he loves it? It's like the ultimate eyeball in the sky. |

I understand the fine if the squirting happens during play. Guys not on the ice should not be interfering with guys in action.
But during a stoppage between two guys on the ice? What is the risk/danger/impact on the game there? |

Oh come on. It's going to give advanced stats (which I am not a fan of) a more realistic and specific set of metrics to draw from. Since it is not the eyeball test, he will hate it out of spite. |

As a fan, in not that interested in any of this. I just enjoy watching the game. I'll leave all the mumbo-jumbo stuff to the guys running the teams. Whatever makes a better product on the ice is favorable, but I do like the purity of just a bunch of guys playing hockey and not banging my head against endless statistics.
That's just where I'm coming from. |
