Looking at the 2005 first round... I haven't heard of half those players. It's scary how many first rounders are actually busts. - Feanor
That was one of the weaker draft years in the last 15 or so; 2007, which had horrific depth, might've actually been better than that one overall

And now, cause I once again have way too much time on my hands, my top 10 list of NHL teams I hate.
1. New York Rangers
Satan on skates. There is no team in all of sports that I hate as much the New York Rangers, none.
2. Pittsburgh Penguins
Neal, Crosby, Malkin, Orpik... They should be called the Pittsburgh douchebags
3. Boston Bruins
Lucic alone is enough to rocket the B's up to 3rd on my list.
4. New Jersey Devils
Just introducing the mind numbing trap to the league would be enough. Now add Scott Stevens and Claude Lemieux to the mix!
5. Toronto Maple Leafs
It's as much about their fans as it the team, but they just annoy the poop out of me.
6. New York Islanders
Hard to really hate a team that sucks as much as the Isles. But hey, they are from New York, I still remember 1980 and their uniforms are hideous
7. Buffalo Sabres
Yeah, they suck, but with their boatload of prospects and picks they will soon be pretty good. As to the hatred, all I can say is Matthew Barnaby.
8. Chicago Black Hawks
Sure, I'm jealous. But frank em anyway.
9. Washington Capitals
This is a leftover from Dale Hunter and the old Patrick division days
10. Montreal Canadiens
Much like Toronto, its more about their incredibly obnoxious fanbase as it is about the team. However, cause I really like and respect Danny Briere, I will be rooting for them to win the cup this year.
Also
Vancouver would have made this list, but they saved themselves by firing Fonzie! |

Reminds me a little of 2005, where the Flyers moved down and took Steve Downie. Mike Keenan and Florida took Keenan McArdle, who never really made it.
Downie has his flaws, but he is an NHL player -- he's gonna get signed within the first few days of free agency, I bet. Too many soft teams in the league for him to not get another shot on a roster - AllInForFlyers
Not sure with his injury issues how quick he'll be signed, unless he is willing to take a one year deal. |

I'm fine with it, too -- can't be scared to move down in a draft - AllInForFlyers
Problem is finding a dance partner to do that with. Many of the other teams are going to be thinking the same thing. |

Its funny, I don't think most flyers fans would hate Malkin if he wore a different jersey. He's a cheaper type player, but no where near the douchebaggery of Crosby and Lucic
My list is,
Penguins
Rangers
Bruins
Devils
Capitals
Maple Leafs
Islanders
Sabres
Don't really hate anyone else, but I have only been a fan for the past 10~12 years or so and only really got addicted to hockey when Richie and crew took over.
Edit: Forgot about Buffalo. Can't stand them. |

So Lucic threatens 2 Montreal players in the post series handshake line
Classy
He is a close #2 just behind James Kneel in my list of the NHL biggest dbags - BiggE
Lucic has vaulted ahead of Neal for me. I don't think Neal tries to be a thug. I think Lucic knows exactly what he's doing.
I hope Dale Wiese kicks his ass next year. |

Gotta disagree with that, I think he blatantly cheap shots people with the intent to injure. |

I feel like Neal is a negative byproduct of that lockerroom in Pittsburgh (which needs some veteran leadership, IMO).
I think Lucic really feels like he can get away with anything.
Also: Once you've played the "Do you know who I am " card, you're forever marked as an entitled bumhole in my mind:

The hatred I have for the New Jersey Devils is mind-numbing, at times.
The Pens and Rags...I hate them, believe me. I truly, truly do.
But there's something about the Devils that makes me irrational. Mainly the fact that since 1995, no team has taken as much from the Flyers -- and it's not even close |

The Devils are the zombie franchise.
You think they would have dipped after Niedermayer and Stevens left/retired.....You think they would have gotten worse when Gionta and Gomez left.....You think they would have gotten worse when Kovalchuk left......
You think they are dead and yet they hang around, hang around...... |

Exactly. 2000 was impossible to take. 1995 was brutal too. Before the Stevens hit on Lindros I was confident the Flyers were going to win that game 7 and go on to win the Cup. As soon as that hit occurred I knew the season was over. |

So funny it needed to be posted twice. Once for the comedic value alone, the second time for the sheer horror that lies just beneath. |

Even when they're not good, they still give the Flyers losses that are just inexplicable. Losses that just make no damn sense whatsoever

For me it would be
1) Pens can't stand players , and TV crew
2) Montreal can't stand fan base just simply the most arrogant. I was treated like crap by concession workers because I could not speak French.
3) Maple Leafs ... Fan base just think they know it all but truly are hypnotized by the colour Blue and the Maple Leaf logo.
Repeat top 3 for bottom 7
I want Rangers to win. I know a lot of people on this board hate the Rangers but I just can't bear to hear and watch Habs fans celebrate.

Might not have won the Cup in 1995, because that team had some holes.
Should've won the Cup in 2000. I'll go to my grave saying that. And probably should've gotten another in 2004. Both of those teams were pretty effing stacked |

The 2000 Stars, and the 2004 Flames were very beatable teams. Would have certainly won one of those SCF. 40 years is way too long to wait. |

I say it a lot. People are probably tired of hearing it.
But this franchise has just been unlucky. As much heat as the franchise owner and senior management can bring upon themselves at times, damn it, if a person really watched those seasons, it's un-(frank)ing-believable they didn't win one of those two years |

Flyers are ahead of the curve drafting and developing guys like rinaldo and goonbourne. That is where the league is going |
