I would think a team would want the best 7 d-men available at all times unless the odd man out was a prospect. When was the last time a flyers prospect's growth was stunted due to too many games sitting in the press box, or as someone else so eloquently put it, when was the last Paul Holmgren special? Yes, I suppose you're right. And Gill was certainly not one of the 7 best, available or not. I guess I'm used to them having a veteran Cote suite inhabitant for that 7th D, though.
