From a draft pick perspective Nashville is perfect. They have their full compliment plus an extra 2nd and 3rd round pick. Would love to get pick 102 for VL and 138, but would take 117 for the same.

I still think Flyers will have to eat around 20-25% of the deal for it to work, and I have questions about how much he's needed in Nashville.

They have a lot of guys that can play center there, and most of those guys are more versatile than Vinny. Could also see a trade for a player, maybe Stalberg or Gaustad.

True, but really, can't say that LA got any breaks -- San Jose just spit the bit, and Anaheim just imploded in Game 7

Can they review and disallow a goalie interference?
I did not think that was reviewable?

If they can move the deal and just eat 20 percent, I'd take it

Man, they gotta do something -- watching the final eight teams in the playoffs, let's just say the best teams in hockey aren't exactly dependent on a 34-year-old center who can't skate well.

If Vinny was a better skater, we wouldn't have to have this conversation. But he isn't, and he can't help, this team get to where we all want it to go

Ottawa only has 3 picks so it would be tough to pry one of them away. Montreal has 7, but no first.

Personally, that evens out that BS power play that CHI scored on, I feel

I wouldn't be asking for a 1st. I'd be expecting no better than a 3rd or 4th rounder.

To me, it's literally addition by subtraction.

I'd like to see it be Schenn or Read with Giroux and Voracek, unless they can make a deal.

Sure
But I've not seen them review a goalie interference if it wasn't called on the ice.

It would make life easier if Schenn could play the wing, but for whatever reason, he just didn't look good there.

Maybe it could be different, with a full season, with Giroux. But he just didn't look good on the wing, and i'd really hate to waste a season -- and lower his trade value even further -- by continuing to try to make something work that just might not

He looked inconsistent at center, as well as wing. I'm not against keeping him at center and leaving Couturier as the "third" line guy, so long as the third line has skilled wingers on it.

The whole "Schenn isn't effective as a winger" thing, to me isn't true, or at least not fully proven as true.

Thing is, we've seen him play well at center, with Hartnell-Schenn-Simmonds and McGinn-Schenn-Voracek.

I have yet to see him play as well at wing as i have seen him play center, at times

Why in gods name does the NHL let their players in that dumb tournament

Who the hell even cares about it?

With the money these guys make it's nuts

Not defending his place with the flyers but he has over 400 goals and a cup to his name.

Way short of what he was originally touted to have been capable of... even in his best years, he always left you wanting. His star is more on the level of a Simon Gagne than a Jean Beliveau, and several light years away from the MJ of Hockey.

I think what makes me leery of moving Schenn -- I guess i wouldn't feel good about it until i saw the deal.

Right now, i just can't picture a deal with Schenn where the Flyers get equal value, get better, and doesn't open a hole somewhere else.

If there is a deal out there where we do that, great. But packaging the Schenn brothers...are we really upgrading, then? There are already three defensemen in the system who, if we are lucky, might be able to really help us. Is Schenn going to get us something better than we already have?

I guess i don't see that. But maybe there is a deal out there. I just would have to see it, I guess.

I agree, he's played best as a Flyer at center. But, I feel with the right situation he can be an effective winger.
