It never gets old does it? The same joke over and over and over... - SuperSchennBros
Just like coming on daily to beat the meat over LeCavalier deserving a top 9 role on the team.
Or is that not meant to be a joke? |

No, it's not. It's pretty clear a player capable of scoring 20 goals is worth a top 6 role anywhere.
Maybe I'm missing something here. You've been using the same joke since mid-december, while the debate of whether or not Vincent Lecavalier belongs here has started since we were knocked out of the playoffs 2 weeks ago. |

The only way LeCavalier is more than a fart in a windstorm next season, is if he fights Balrog, and rises out more powerful than before. |

Be strong up the middle, stay young and build via the draft and player development.

Is trading up 13 spots worth Schenn or do you consider brodie an upgrade over Luke? - jstross
I consider Brodie a huge upgrade on Luke. He's a good, two way guy who can move the puck and skates well |

You're kind of beating the 20 goals scored to death. The goals were great, unfortunately the overall play was terrible.
The Flyers are going to be a skating team this upcoming season, per the coach and new GM. Lecavalier is a subpar skater.
At this point in his career, Lecavalier is basically a stationary shooter, which is a poor fit for the system and personnel on the roster.
The Flyers need more guys who can be good two way players. Lecavalier is not a good two way player, in large part because of his skating deficiencies.
Lecavalier is not going to suddenly improve as a skater, and unless something really odd happens, the Flyers aren't going to change coaches in the near future.
I don't care how many goals he has over his career or how many Stanley Cups he's won. He's a limited player, in the twilight of his career. Even if he has a bounce back season, it's not likely he will bounce back to a 90 point guy.
I'd rather see kids like Schenn and Couturier get an opportunity. They are the future. |

Lines up to folks with better hock knowledge. I didn't see Hartnell as a player with that contract anyone would take. You could flip the LWs or try to deal Hartnell and go after another LW. |

I'm worried Raymond parleys his solid season into an overpayment. Still a bit leery of him.
Id rather move Read up to that spot and see what's out there in trade or free agency |

I really just hope the flyers cut some baggage and open up space for the kids. In 2 years or less we can have a fully home grown team that will be a cup contender.
Top 9 of...
Raffl G Jake
Harts Schenn Simmonds
Akeson Couts Read
With Laughton possibly making a case somewhere in there.
D Corps of...
Morin Coburn
Ghost Schenn
Streit MacDonald
(OR various other combos depending on development.)
If everything goes well. G will only be 28 to 29 and still playing great and defense will be looking good. If we trade away Schenn for defense in the off season we will be seriously low on good forward prospects and will have nothing left to fill up the roster if an injury occurs.
I really really hope we do the UFA route to plug up holes (Kulemin, Pouliot, Jokinen, Raymond, depth dman) and try to get rid of salary like Lecavalier, maybe Grossman or MacDonald. |
