leino briere hartnell almost beat the blackhawks
remember it fondly
Duncan Keith saying "that fcking Leino guy again"

Leino had such a short stretch of success and the Flyers were the only ones who reaped the benefits of it |

well, for some reason .5 is typically considered enough to round up, but okay. touche on that one
but daniel alfredsson at 5.5? one, i believe it was a smaller amount than that.
and 2. daniel alfredsson at 5.5 for one year, or vinny at 4.5 for 5 of them. you keep trivializing the length of the term in your evaluation. that is unfair. - stayinthefnnet
you're assuming everyone uses the ceiling function
http://en.wikipedia.org/w...oor_and_ceiling_functions
vinny is 7 years younger than alfredsson so it's much better to give him a longer contract |

I wonder if the Flyers try a short term reclamation project with a guy like Leino or Heatley this summer.
They should be out there, and cheap |

Out of the two, I would have interest in Heatley. Before the playoffs, I would have put Gaborik in this category, but I believe he has played his way to a multi-year deal. I would still kick the tires on Gaborik on term and price. |

Only if it costs nothing to waive them. They've both been bad for a while now. |

I would too. Gaborik has looked great with kopitar. I bet the kings try to keep him. He will definitely get multiple years |

I think Gaborik was always gonna be expensive...I don't really see him as a reclamation project...but Heatley, his play has dropped significantly.
I don't see enough cap for Gaborik, Vanek or Cammalieri |

I'm just saying I could see the Flyers doing a one year deal for low cash, I wouldn't touch either of them. |

Gaborik is exactly the type of winger G could use. However, Gaborik can be frail. It will be really interesting to see what offers he gets in the open market. |

Interesting, that you believe Cammy will get a multi -yr deal I'm assuming north of $5.5 million. Being a smaller forward like Briere, once he loses steps, his usefulness in a top 6 role will be in jeopardy. It will be interesting to see how many years teams are willing to gamble to acquire his services.

I'd rather just let Raffl and Akeson run with the ball than expend resources on those two. |

I think he's looking at 4 years, at $5.5mm-$6mm...I can't see him taking a big haircut, and he's making $6mm now |

No older players unless a 1 year deal for a Dman to bridge to the puppies. |

Well, he better be prepared to trim his hair. We don't want any Sal Fasanos on this team. |

Call me crazy but I'm thinking Hexy tries to pull trade with l.a. He does know that roster quite well |

I would rather take a run at Tom Gilbert. It's not his fault, Edmonton overpaid him, I would have taken the money and run also. |

I wouldn't be surprised by that either. I wouldn't be upset about it either. It's fairly common for GMs to look to acquire talent on their previous teams. |

Dan Boyle for $5,000,000 on a 1 year deal, but only if Kimmo retires. |

IMO, the Tom Gilbert ship has sailed. Would have been nice to lock him up last summer when his value was at an all-time low instead of getting Streit, but he's played himself back into the $4M range, and that's too much for him, IMO. |

For $24 million, heck yeah. I would feel all warm and fuzzy at night looking at my bank statement on-line. |
