Guillaume Gélinas just took a nasty knee on knee & needed help leaving the ice. |

Yes the Guelph player stuck his leg out & Guillaume Gélinas tried to avoid it but couldn't

Hopefully he'll be at the cap-limit by April, not August. |

Ideally, I'd like to see them leave a little room. It's difficult having to carry Pronger's cap hit. |

Just curious. I have no problem spending to the limit, in fact it is preferable when you have as much LTIR you can use. I just hope it's in short term contracts. |

76ers lottery draft tomorrow night. Need a top 3 and the NO pick. Worst case Celtics 1, Lakers 2, NO 3, Sixers 5. NBA probably has it rigged already. |

There is something like a 1/200 chance that the Sixers pick 5th and NO picks in the top 3, so thats unlikely.
It would be devastating if the Sixers lost the NO pick this year though. |

He's also soft as a baby's bottom, a notorious fader as the season goes along, and pretty lousy defensively. |

Yeah. Top 3 and the NO pick are key. Only a 55.8% chance of getting a top 3. However a 96% chance we get the NO pick. Hinke is a maniac. He's all over the country and the world scouting players. When in town he's in the office until 12:00-2:00 AM.

Jussi Jokinen, Benoit Pouliot, Nikolai Kulemin. Not one of these names excite me. Not even a tiny bit. Yes I understand they'll command less money and might be a suitable bandaid until something better comes along but to me, signing these guys isn't much different from signing the epic failures that were Rulan Fedotenko and Bruno Gurvis.
feel free to disagree but the guy I like is Steve Ott. I don't know what his status is, I was unable to read the response is the last time I brought his name up but at the right price I think he would fit well here. However, I think he would be pretty expensive. More expensive than the names brought up. Again, I have no idea what his status is right now outside of he at least was a pending UFA this summer. |

To be honest I wouldn't want anybody from the Leafs ( that are available) Maybe Gardiner, but they will want too much for him.
I have seen too much of them, Kulemin started to fade last year and continued this year.I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Russia.
Pouliot and Ott would be great additions.... But I know that May be pretty hard to get both |

Yeah. I trust Hinkie. Even if they end up with the 4th pick, I'll still think they have a bright future. They have a ton of cap space. If they can put together a good, young nucleus, they can attract a top free agent when the time comes.
It would be just like the NBA to have the Celtics and Lakers win the lottery and get a superstar. |
