Not trying to start anything PP, just making an observation. Also had a lot of fun during the CHI/MIN series with theh Hawks fans, some solid folks in their threads.

A potentially important event in the Kane/Toews extension talks. Their agent is Pat Brisson, who also reps Crosby and Malkin. Brisson had been mentioned as a potential candidate for the Pittsburgh GM position; but it was reported today that he has no such interest. It has always appeared that Brisson has a good relationship with the Hawks, and getting a new agent (or agents) into the mix at this time could have thrown a bit of a monkey wrench into the negotiations. - mohel
He's probably thinking in the back of his mind that he's got another huge double commission coming too. |

No worries. It wasn't meant to be taken too seriously anyway, what with the boner line, but I guess that didn't get picked up by some. |

It can be difficult to call live sometimes, so maybe there should be some sort of points system like with technical fouls in the NBA. Infractions could be assessed upon video review and accumulate toward a suspension at some point. Not for borderline sale jobs, but clear dives. - mohel
Many years ago there were guys who would flop...Most were not very good players and everyone knew who they were. So eventually it worked against them.
At some point the game is fast can't be used as an excuse...It is fast but refs need to be accountable and the NHL needs to stop micro managing every game...

Add the Blues to that list of yours.
Hawks know how to win and do it.
For me, the idea of outplaying another team is a joke when you lose. You obviously didn't outplay them because they scored more goals than you
- stljam
Yep, Minny media STILL lamenting about Hawks puck luck and how the Wild "out played" them and could have won the series. Pathetic really! I was happy with how the Wild showed in the post season, no regrets except for how embarrassing our local media and fans have been with the woe is us attitudes. |

I don't know it signing Elliott to a 3yr contract was the answer but have to like the fact the Blues realized Ryan Miller was a mistake and didn't throw more money at him.

Mngump, after the Wild series there was some talk about some cap problems for the Wild after 2015. Is this true or is this a case of the media blowing it out of proportion? |

Bollig absolutely tuned somebody up too, might have been Doughty(?).
Bollig actually had a pretty good game yesterday, and 15 more shifts than yahoodi predicted on my FB page! HAHAHAHAHAHA - John Jaeckel
Bollig played well in the first i thought. Nice job finishing his checks with venom and within the rules. He still struggles to win important board battles, especially with pucks 10-20 feet inside the Chicago blue line. One such misplay cost the Hawks' game 2 of the SCF last year. He has progressed and earned the extension but I haven't seen much improvement in that regard from Bollig this season,

Puck luck is an interesting straw man...After watching years of teams who fell short and had many excuses....For the most part the better teams get lucky.

Agree, he has trouble along the boards and when he does come out with the puck (which is rarely) he's not sure what to do with the damn thing. |

Hoss is so strong on his skates. It's amazing how often someone comes at him to knock him off the puck and ends up on their butt. |

Meh, everyone has their ornery moments. Hard for some to not interpret an opposing fan's comment as an insult. Everyone has their defence mechanisms. |

Definitely not me. Even if I thought Hawks in 5, I would definitely never give Hawks fans the satisfaction by actually saying it. So take that for what it is. |

And wasn't sure if others had seen, but Chicago boy Michael Turner has committed to play with Oshawa.
Only noticed him because of the Chicago connection, but the kid has good size already, left winger who is apparently measured at 6'2" 200 lbs. |

Don't think so, as far as I know, the Wild will be gaining somewhere in the ball park of $12 milllion in cap space in addition to the ceiling raising.
The only thing I've heard recent is that the Wild will be penalized for cap overages this season because certain players hit performance bonues which apparently put them over the cap ceiling. |

no...thats to much for a highly subjective and interpretive call by the ref....its not always that obvious..
i don't like the four minute for drawing blood with the high stick...have no idea what that double minor is attempting to prevent....
break a guys jaw or nose but no blood and its still only 2 minutes....
the over all stick enforcement policy and calls and non calls by the refs is another league wide embrassment - bogiedoc
Let me tell you what is happening now...Refs can't discern so they call nothing. Which doesn't prevent diving and cheapens the sport.
If diving was more than a 2 minute penalty which is usually an offsetting penalty it could curb the BS.
The reason for the 4 minutes HS is once again because the NHL tries to take away the subjective aspect and make calls more mechanical. Nice thought but it doesn't work when you have a suspect group in stripes.
