Hence the that old idiom, "you have to be good to be lucky". - MnGump
Yep....And the more players you have that can finish the more luck seems to find you.

Reminds me of something Matt Barry said before the Kings-Canucks series: "Be gentle."
Seemed to work out well for the Kings when he said it. |

Not trying to start anything PP, just making an observation. Also had a lot of fun during the CHI/MIN series with the Hawks fans, some solid folks in their threads.
No disrespect to your team bro. Just having fun. - MnGump
Minni's future is really bright so you will have some good stuff the cheer about in the coming years. |

In a larger sense, the Kings looked tired. Which is not surprising in light of their finishing a tough 7-game series Friday night then flying almost immediately to Chicago for Sunday’s matinee. The Hawks, by contrast, were coming off a 4-day rest, having played two less games than the Kings thus far in the playoffs as well.
That will likely even out somewhat in the series, especially once the Hawks start travelling out West.
I don't want to sound dumb but I don't fly much so maybe someone could explain something about the travel to me.
There's always a big deal made when an Eastern team makes a West Coast trip but not vice versa. Especially in a series like this when both teams are only playing each other . When the game is over they both have to get on a plane and fly back to play each other even though one sleeps in their own bed and the other stays in a luxury hotel with room service. - kissthecup22
Body clock....as much or more than sleeping at home. There have been studies done on NFL teams going from West to East....The time change makes a bigger difference than going the other way.

The goaltending situation is still a bit murky at present, but I'm sure they'll figure that out this summer... |

It's not just Harding. Backstrom is under contract for another few seasons too. |

per CSN, Shaw has skated 3 days in a row and if he practices tomorrow, he could play on Weds... |

Lots of teams have bright futures until they learn the hard way that they don't have good enough goaltending to go all that far. Philly, San Jose, Washington, Pittsburgh.
Minny is in that category - 4 goaltenders and none of them really very good or injury prone. |

Let me tell you what is happening now...Refs can't discern so they call nothing. Which doesn't prevent diving and cheapens the sport.
If diving was more than a 2 minute penalty which is usually an offsetting penalty it could curb the BS.
The reason for the 4 minutes HS is once again because the NHL tries to take away the subjective aspect and make calls more mechanical. Nice thought but it doesn't work when you have a suspect group in stripes.

Or, the very next game a new pair of refs call every little thing that they perceive as an infraction. |

I hate to admit it but I shed a few tears myself when we had to put out tabby to sleep. Damn, that was not easy to say. |

I don't know it signing Elliott to a 3yr contract was the answer but have to like the fact the Blues realized Ryan Miller was a mistake and didn't throw more money at him. - Al

No, Bylsma put his there idiotically. Also Eli, Iginla's not a center. |

It was really tough putting both my 16 year old cats, Pretzel and Chips, to sleep. My mom and I were crying. Yes I admit it. Even my macho and manly dad was crying |

Just grabbing the ol' blanket statement out to refer to Europe, that's all
Only a matter of time probably...
If they'll have one in Italy, they'll eventually have one here in the UK. |
