Don't be too harsh Nester, the guy has to deal with the nonstop east coast media blitz constantly pumping the tires of all things New York/Boston...even if everyone knows the East is the Junior Circuit of the NHL. It's a miracle he even knows there is a Western Conference. - Ogilthorpe2

Canucks , Wild , Oilers , Islanders , Penguins would be my guesses for Miller - mrpaulish
If I was all of those teams, I'd want to trade and H for an M and go that route, |

According to some. Miller is the best goalie in the world. To be fair. They didn't exactly say this world. |

Ugh...good news/bad news....
Bad news - Popped my knee with about 12 minutes left in my game last night and tried to play tonight. Let's just say it didn't work out well. Looks like I get at least 2 weeks off of hockey.
Good news - I actually get to watch more playoff hockey though I wish it was last round so I could watch a lot more games.

Go away. Your team is going to ruin the SCF because whoever of the Hawks or Kings kills them will have an asterisk kill the accomplishment.

when he's on his game, nash is a great player. he's just really inconsistent.
i think seabrook is better than girardi. but i think staal is way better than hjarlmarsson. i think mcdonagh, girardi, and staal are all legitimate bonafide #1 defensemen. i think only keith and seabrook are on your team. - rangerdanger94
Here we go again!
Why do other teams fans disrespect Hjalmarsson so much? Do they not see him pay enough? The man is a warrior/Viking. You could try to argue Stall is better then Hjalmarsson, But you would just be wrong.
Maybe the most underrated D-man in the NHL from a fans perspective. I don't believe coaches and Gm's underrate him at all. |

Other team's fans disrespect players on other teams, be it Hjalmarsson or whomever because most fans are fans only of the team they support. I wouldn't call it disrespectso much as ignorance. And we as Hawk fans sometimes do the same. |

Players that don't put up points are "disrespected" by other teams' fans (and media): Hjalmarsson hit 20 points this year for the first time - 13 goals in 5+ full seasons and one play-off goal (well, officially).
We understand his game because we see him blocking shots, making the good quick pass out (forgetting the odd blind back-hand pass that doesn't work), riding an opposing forward into the boards.
He only gets national media attention when he blocks a shot with his throat. |

A Hawk fan or two saw other teams play and suddenly saw the grass being greener on the other side of the fence. The term 'modern hockey' was thrown out with the inference being the Hawks played some outdated style that was no longer viable in todays NHL. I'd argue the opposite. Some also view Quenneville as some domineering, egotistical, micromanaging, has been, who only plays veterans. Nothing is further from the truth. The Hawks of 2010 played a wide open higher risk game where the coaching staff would match each and every line the other team threw out there. In 2013, the team played a less risky game and for the most part the coaching staff rolled four lines regardless of who was on the ice for the opposition. This year I see even less coaching involvement during the game. Where i see the biggest coaching influence is in how the team plays. Instead of a wide open game where the team takes all kinds of risks to score I see a defensively sound team who take opportunities and seldom take risks to score, unless risks are required.
I'd argue not only do the Hawks have the best team in terms of talent and intangibles like heart and work ethic, I'd also argue the team is in fact the most modern team in the NHL because this team can play any style, against any opponent and they do so without giving the opposition many chances to score while taking advantage of their own scoring opportunities when they present themselves. I'd also argue that the Hawks are hands down the best coached team in hockey and that Quenneville is well on his way to being in the same conversation with the best. |
