Lets get the Kings fans the benefit of the doubt on the one post Toffoli hit when he deked around Crawford on the breakaway
lets also put the toews goal back up on the board, and give Bickell and Rozy the benefit of hitting the net with 2 beauty feeds Quick was hung out to dry on and had no shot on, but they missed the net wide
So the game now ends 6-2
still feel supremely great the Kings outplayed the Hawks badly? |

In hindsight you're correct...but the trade still didn't surprise me.
Am I glad it blew up on 'em? You betcha! - ArlingtonRob

Bollig absolutely tuned somebody up too, might have been Doughty(?).
Bollig actually had a pretty good game yesterday, and 15 more shifts than yahoodi predicted on my FB page! HAHAHAHAHAHA - John Jaeckel
Wasn't it Bollig with the Matt Cooke moment chasing the King's goal scorer?

you know what trade was a total steal?
carcillo for a 7th - rangerdanger94
Last time Carcillo faced the Hawks in the Finals, it didn't work out so well for him...or his teammates. |

OK, let's keep it to this year.
Listen, I'm a Gaborik fan. I get what he brings. But . . .
That said, it is ignorant to hammer on Pearson and Toffoli as though Kruger didn't improve his FO% by 12 points over last year, Saad didn't get better, Leddy didn't get better, etc.
Let's face it, these are essentially the same teams as last year. Not that much difference. - John Jaeckel
Of course the young guys on both teams improved, but that's not exactly what I mean. What I mean is that now with a second line of Carter/Toffoli/Pearson playing well, the Kings have much more depth up front than they did last year. Richards is our fourth line center for god sake. We also don't have guys like Penner, Richardson, and Colin Fraser being absolute pylons or taking dumb penalties out there. Add to that a quality scoring winger for Kopitar to finally play with in Gaborik and win or lose, this is not the same Kings team from last year. |

Does anyone think Stan can get one of buffalo or Edmonton to bite on leddy and if we sweetened the pot a bit move up in this years draft? Bennent or Reinhart would help fill that 2c postion in a few year! probably wishful thinking but Leddy is as good as gone this june. |

The blatant interference or picks after dump-ins is what really annoys me. Players are called for a lot less than that during the season.
This really slows down the game for a team like the Hawks. - 67hawks
The variance in how these types of plays are called gives the NHL a big say in who wins the Cup in many years, imo. Allow clutching and grabbing, one of a certain group of teams wins; call it tight and a team from another group of teams can win. Perhaps the Hawks are in both groups because they are showing the ability to play just about any style, but still..... Pick a lane, NHL, so teams can make up their rosters accordingly. |

JJ - Lot of discussion about the decline in shots on goal for the Hawks. Is this something to be concerned about in your estimation?
Wiz/Al - I'll throw this question your way too since it was a big topic of discussion on the prior thread and I've noticed it as well. - golfbard
Could be a number of factors but the Hawks have faced 2 now 3 teams which play good defense.
Also there hasn't been 1 game yet when the Hawks have played at a high level for 3 straight periods in regulation....Plus 2nd periods have been dismal in each series so far except for 1 game.
Hawks stay perfect at home, win Game 1. Plus trying to make sense out of the NHL :On The Blackhawks: Fox Chicago: http://bit.ly/1gHw0oq |

Biggest issue as I have said many times and really is a black mark against the sport...No other game tweaks their rule book as much for playoffs as the NHL.
...And the Hawks have shown they can win either way.
Bollig taking an easy spill yesterday is something the Hawks don't do enough of....I see more blatant dives in this post season than before and seldom if ever is a player called for diving.
