Diving is another area of poor rulings. They only call diving with a penalty on the other team. - mohel
When we were in the St. louis series I was calling for supervision even if it cam form off the ice to the on - ice where they warned people....I said back of the leg hits and all the unnecessary garbage and contact far after the whistle...
I was extremely happy that Martinez was called....the whistle blew a pretty long time before Martinez faked he was in the play and made contact - it was not a hockey play...it was a bush intimidation play that teams have been getting away with in the playoffs and when teams are trying to catch up during the season.
I was happy the ref had the balls to make that call because it eliminated tons a garbage we would seem heaped on the hawks after the plays were dead.
I just don't think it has a place and it just ramps nastiness up...i have no problem with checks slightly late contact or punishment on attackers standing in front, bcuae the play is going on.
You can fault Bollig for falling like a chopped tree, but he should not have to be hit there, and I am for all teams getting called for that garbage...that tempered the BS early...

The funny thing was we also left with the crwoads a bit ealry and never heard Hendrix at the end...that always bothered me because we were still three freaking days since we had no idea where the car was...where we were was far enough away to not hear him close, but close enough and in the wrong direction find the car. Honestly thought we had a good idea but went in two wrong directions until we covered most bigger roads when there we a whiole lot less cars left on them and we found it. I never went back up there and I bet I couldn't tell you were we parked except that we were miles away.
Bennett and Reinhardt are great kids but I am betting Buffalo, Edmonton and most of the early pickers are not gonna wreck them with early involvement, because they are NOT star material guys, just future lunchpail guys once developed.
Think Logan Couture (the now version) and how long it is taking for the all around play to polish into a good and not a potential one. - wiz1901

Sad that someone here had a mother that was young enough to go to Woodstock. |

Show her my picture...did we meet?
(and I thought I could restain myself from posting "Whose your daddy?")
I am pretty good a quizzing the folks that say they were there...because about two million people say they were who weren't, we could put here under the hot lights...and get the truth out... |

There are a few UFA centers out there...but not many that will fit within the cap, or those that you would consider bonifide #2 centers . I could see them try to land someone with a lower price tag to add depth at the position. A Vernon Fiddler or Dominic Moore type. |

I honestly don't think he dove. If you watch the replay closely, at the exact moment he's hit, he appears to be shifting his weight to one foot, presumably because he's about to turn and skate away. Maybe I'm gullible, but it looked legit to me. |

Looked to me like he conveniently lifted one skate off the ice because he knew what was coming.

I wanted Moore back in 2008-09, but we ended up with Pahlsson instead.
Five years later, not so sure I still see a need for him here, unless they let Regin walk. |

Ryan Kessler - Ogilthorpe2
What about Iginla?
The guy has moved to two different teams in the last 15 months or so looking for a shot at the Stanley Cup, and can't get into the finals. Boston has over $4 million tied up in performance bonuses that will go against the cap next season (mostly belonging to Iginla...), that's not going to help the Bruins next season.
I know he's not a true center, but he did play center for a while a few seasons back in Calgary. He's also made over $78 million in career salary, so if he really wants a cup, salary shouldn't matter to him at this point.
I'd love it if Bowman would reach out to his agent just before the draft and sniff around to see if he'd take $2 million with no bonuses for a bonafide shot at a cup? If he would, I'd trade something to Boston for his rights and get him locked down for a season. |

I'd definitely consider paying international shipping to get an Iginla Hawk sweater. That'd be the type of big revenue splash McDonough would have wet dreams about.
Guy is one of my favourite players to not play for Chicago. |

Are you running a charity here? He's a UFA, nothing has to be sent to Boston to sign him.

Great exchange in Parenthood:
Diane Wiest character says: I was at Woodstock, for Christ's sake
Her date says: Hey, I was at Woodstock, too
Diane Wiest character says: Yeah? I thought you looked familiar
Excellent movie. |

Whether he legitimately fell because of the hit or not, it was still a weak call. Though, if it puts an end to the after the whistle BS I'm good with it. |
