Myers will never be a pp QB, Pysyk was terrible in AHL playoffs, he has zero offensive skills and no hitting, girgensons will be nothing more than a solid 3rd liner... If Sabres fans think his 41% of faceoffs are a good thing then we have serious problems. I was banned from Sabres. Com after 17,000 posts because they said I was being too negative about Darcy as GM and the new exciting Leino signing. What I said about Leino... He won't fit into Sabres system, he is soft like the players we already have and Leino has a chronic hip problem... I was right. Myers stick handles with head down and doesn't have vision to be a pp QB. Girgensons I'm not sure why people think he is so amazing, he couldn't even score in AHL or lead a team past first Rd. He can't even win a faceoff lol - MrSquirrel

When did it become ok to hit another guy in the nuts? That's not a part of "The Code"? Not once have I ever watched that happen and thought, "Man that guy really wants to win!" - CaptCrankypants

I will not be convinced of "Z"'s heart and soul character with this simple T-bagging incident unless he goes "FULL Lucic" during this tournament and threatens to kill every one in the Russian Federation. Then we will know he's our next captain.

Well... There is a reason they were leagues worst team... They can't skate, shoot and score and people in buffalo Get all excited over third liners who work hard but have zero ability to finish. I like many players on Sabres, I just think Myers is a head case and Girgensons is not a high end talent. Why give 20 mins of ice time next year to guys who can't score?
"Pysyk and Girgensons are future captains " lol - MrSquirrel
As someone who bangs this drum constantly, I agree mostly that people are overvaluing the type of player that Girgensons is. He's going to be a good player. He may even be the team's captain when all is said and done, especially on a Ted Nolan coached team. However, if this team is ever going to win a championship, they need at least 3 more forwards that have about twice the playmaking and scoring ability Girgensons does. Girgensons is going to be a solid #3 center when all is said and done. I don't thing he's going to be as good as say a Patrice Bergeron. He doesn't have enough offensive ability to be. |

Definitely won't be a Bergeron player.
I'm convinced his career will mirror Dustin Browns |

There's nothing wrong with what Girgensons is. He won't be a top flight scorer, but that's fine. Great teams who win cups are made up of players on all lines who know their roles and can play them well. No cups teams are made up of 4 lines of speedy danglers. Look at Stamkos in Tampa. Amazing talent in scoring touch. Puts up the numbers, doesn't play a deep championship team with quality role players. Our scorers are coming soon. |

I missed this, I must not understand it in the Canadian accent. Don Cherry drops an F bomb tonight, I believe describing the play of Vanek.

The entire "core" became complacent, and accepted losing, no matter how many crocodile tears they shed. It has caused both these guys to underperform in the playoffs. |

I agree. They were raised in one of the worst incubators in hockey. A very good team guts its leadership, automatically promoted undeserving players and gave them a built in excuse not to succeed at a high level. Then trust them onto talented teams with cup hungry fans and no excuse. Not a recipe for success. |

Was the Miller trade really a massive return? Unless Murray knows something everyone else doesn't, and lands an absolute superstar with the late 1st round pick, I would say they got a good return, but nothing incredible. |

Considering we got Jaro Halak back + a 1st+ a 2nd + Stewart+ William Carrier
For Miller and Ott. Yes that's a massive return for a UFA goalie and a UFA 3rd liner.
Just consider what Other players brought back at the deadline.
Moulson got us a meh return, Gaborik trade was a joke, Vanek trade was a joke. |

the vanek trade was rape
look at what the islanders got for him at the deadline
not sure on the massive return from the blues, ott was in the mix
if the prospect pans out then yes it was though |

They didn't need to be fleecings - Miller and Ott getting ANY return is great because they were UFAs. Miller was very likely not re-signing, so to get something for him was very good. To pack another UFA with him to make the return better was great work, IMO |
