I say that we trade up if Hayden Fleury is available at 11. He was projected to go 6th a while ago, but has fallen off in some rankings. Seems like Pulock v2.0. All true believers of Raptor Jesus know that Pulock is superior to Morin. - jmatchett383
I secretly hope Pulock is horrible. |

Saw a mock draft with the Flyers picking Guelph small center Rob Fabbri. Do we want this guy even if he's the best available? - 2731color
No, I don't want him so we'll be taking him. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Tuesday Quick Hits - bmeltzer
I worry that too much is being made of Brayden Schenn's play in the World Championships. If we all remember Erik Gustafsson had an impressive World's last year but it didn't earn him a regular spot with the Flyers entering to following season. I definitely feel too much is being made of Schenn needing to play with two skilled wingers. Who doesn't? I feel Giroux would be twice the player he is by playing with to legit bonafide number one wingers. |

I don't think anyone cares what he does in the WCs. |

Yeah. Bill is just giving people an opportunity to follow along. I work all day, so I don't get the chance to watch the games. I don't put much stock in the games or the stats. I think it's good experience for him though. |

Who did you want last year? - PhillySportsGuy
Before the draft I wanted them to trade up and get Nurse, if they stayed at 11 I wanted Zadorov then Morrissey in that order.
During the draft when Nichushkin started to drop my eyes kinda got big. |

The World Championship is a joke tournament. It's a mini Olympics that doesn't have any players from teams that make the first (sometimes second) round of the NHL playoffs. Many players choose to not play because they're not interested. I'd put more stock into the WJC than the WC. |

Well, I don't really except in passing. It's foolish to think that translates into any more than the time he and Couturier spent with the Phantoms. |

I don't disagree. I'm just basing my own perspective based on what I've read. |

I certainly care; it's better to have Schenn skating and playing hockey than playing golf, right? |

I think people have parlayed things from the tournament into talking points.
Giving Schenn the proper linemates has been a topic of discussion well before the tournament.
Moving Read up into more of a scoring role has been discussed as well.
I don't think the anyone believes the Flyers are going to be able to give Schenn a winger like Nathan McKinnon. |

Ha! Yeah.
But I just don't think it's a bad thing for Schenn to be playing, or for us to follow along in the hopes that he's learning things that will help him be a better Flyers player in the fall. Getting coached by Dave Tippett can't be a bad thing, right? |

Exactly; it's simply been more promising to see that Schenn hasn't played his way down the lineup and maybe is showing improvement in areas like faceoffs, stuff like that.
I certainly don't expect the guy to come back like Wayne Gretzky, but at some point, I certainly hope that Schenn improves enough to really be a true asset for the franchise, and I don't know how you do that without actually playing the sport and doing it on the ice.

I don't understand this need of worry to get Schenn "proper" wingers to play with. I feel the Flyers still need to find a balance as a whole. No disrespect to Voracek and Hartnell but Giroux doesn't nearly have the support Getzlaf has with Perry of Crosby if he needs Malkin, Neal or Kunitz. I think we should worry about getting our captain to that next level. |
