I have the original trilogy by Terry Brooks but never got around to reading them, hardback versions. So I thought I would give them a go.
I will look up your suggestions, while the wife watches her crap on tv, I read, lol. - LeafMan
Some of the my Fave authors:
Eddings for light-hearted humorous fantasy
Feist is really good all around
Robin Hobb tends towards emotional and sometimes romance-heavy fantasy
George RR Martin - Song of Ice and Fire series is very good... especially if you are watching Game of Thrones
Stephen R Donaldson, Chronicles of Thomas Covenant are very good.

Ever read Christopher Hitchens? I'm currently read a collection of writings he put together from some of the most classical writings. - AdamFrench
He was a political writer? I think I read some of his articles. |

Yeah he brings up a lot of good examples there of how hockey just doesn't get described as neatly by some of these stats as some people would like. People who latched onto analytics so fervently seem to me to be a little caught up in something that's too good to be true.
Sometimes I listen to Mirtle and I'm like oh gawd he's referencing analytics AGAIN, every team and player that comes up it's about these stats. - Zezel
He makes great points in his report. I was surprised that I finally agreed with him. Does that mean I'm dying? |

Not a #1 center yet makes team USA every year to center one of lines... ok man - DougGilmour_93
...And how's that been working out for them? He wouldn't even make it as a waterboy on team Canada. |

Politics, religion, journalist. Sadly died from cancer awhile ago. He was a firebrand. |

Nice.
I will say this, the last three Thomas Covenant's are (frank)ing tedious. First three were really great though. |

it fixes a 5 year need for a better center than bozak - senstroll
Ok so we eat an extra 2.5-3 mil in cap hit to upgrade what was our only strength last year (line 1)?
Oh and Bozak and Stastny had the exact same ppg rate last year |

They don't pick players to fill the roles of support. He'd never be asked to be waterboy. |

Advanced stats aren't a joke.
Failing to recognize that they are flawed, in ways that have been pointed out MANY times, and failing to try to adjust the models is arrogant and idiotic. - Aetherial
Agreed, I think they have their place, but should be looked at within context. |

Honestly, the reason I don't like reading print anymore is because my eyes are poop. On my PS3 & phone I can at least zoom in.

yeah, the second three were hit and miss and the ones he wrote recently are pretty much next on my list...
If you want really *heavy* fantasy, extremely complex you can try the Malazan books of the fallen by Stephen Erikson
The Wheel of Time series has some really great and cool moments but probably went on too long - Robert Jordan, with the last couple books written by someone else.

I too was uncomfortable agreeing with Simmons. It probably won't happen again, so I think we're okay.
