Ales Hemsky isn't going to fix what's wrong with your team, either.
If TM manages to nab Puempel for Stewart, the student truly will have become the master. |

As a Blues fan, I was happy with acquiring Ryan Miller...... but I was absolutely ecstatic that we were able to unload Stewart! It was worth everything we gave up just to get rid of him. - Blues65
That's pretty much how I felt when he was traded TO the Blues. |

This might be a rare concept but if someone writes something, especially first, I try to give them credit for it. - Travis Yost
They were not allowed in the Leafs thread and were removed, you can mention or give credit but not linked to. Double check with EO, I asked for clarification as well. |

Agreed. And he's a cancer in the locker room apparently. Stay away from Chris Stewart. |

Great article with revealing numbers. We always knew he was a drag in St. Louis and I was happy we were rid of him in the Miller deal. From a STL perspective we were good to get rid of Halak and Stewart in that deal. Halak was NOT going to be resigned here and Stewart is addition by subtraction. We will see what William Carrier becomes, but he will at best be something we already have plenty of. So to me, losing the picks hurt and I'm glad they didn't lose another 1st round by re-signing him.
But I agree, Chris Stewart is not the answer for ANY team. |

I knew there would be an advanced stat breakdown on it(I do like advanced stats btw).
I like the 3rd breakdown, it shows guys are more productive NOT playing with him. I know the Sabres only had him for 1.5 games but even then I didn't like what I saw. He's not fast, doesn't have great hands and doesn't seem to pride himself on one particular thing.
edit: Truth is Sabres need to hang onto him to be at the cap floor. |

When Stewart drives the net, maintains a solid net precense, he scores goals. Unfortunately, he's only willing to do that for 5-10% of the games he plays. You will notice him more often on the ice for backchecking like Ovechkin than for anything positive. |

I will be somewhat surprised if Hemsky ends up some place different than Spezza. A team could transform their top 6 with those two players. Watch for Nashville, Florida and Pheonix surprise us with the strength of their trade offer. - spatso
so, sign Hemsky and trade the both of them as a package?? |

I don't mind Chris Stewart. I do think he has a hot or not style of game, but given the right situation may thrive. I don't think he is a top line player, but could defiantly provide secondary scoring with a mean streak. That said, I do not want to loose a decent prospect for him. I've heard Stone is the guy T Murray wants. Stone will basically become Stewart, if not a better player, so I don't see much sense in that deal from our perspective. I wouldn't cheer or grown brining him in as long as the deal is reasonable. I'm sure Buffalo isn't looking to just give him away though, which is why I think a deal hasn't been struck yet. - Gord_Wilson_2.0
At Stones age Stewart put up 28 goals, around the same amount of games Stones played in his career. |

not really sure what your point is. that because he had a good season like 6 years ago, he should be worth more than stone now? |

My point is saying Stone will basically be Stewart or better might be wishful thinking. |

so then moving him for stewart makes no sense, as he's younger and much cheaper. plus stone seems to be a player that goes balls out all the time, while stewart seems to have a well earned rep of being a lazy (frank)er.
i wouldn't trade stone for stewart |

All I was saying is it's not guaranteed after 30 NHL games Stone will ever match Stewarts numbers, at the same time Stewart is a lazy (frank)er and it's too bad cause he could be a really good nhl player if he cared. |
