He is a third line guy but has proven in the past that he can be offensive. Don't be surprised to see kulemin on Malkins wing. He has played on his wing more than a few times. Had over a point a game with malkin in the KHL a couple years ago. Proving now in the worlds he plays well given the opportunity.
Have you not herd the rumors the past 3 years of the pens wanting to get kulemin so they can try to play him with malkin? - JVR_42_PK81
He was a 30 goal scorer three years ago. Since then, 25 in his last 188 games. He is a solid defensive player, but please don't call him an offensive threat. His sample size with Malkin is SMALL.
He is a third line guy in Pittsburgh.
I heard the rumors ... rumors are rumors, just like all the Ales Hemsky rumors to Pittsburgh at every trade deadline; same with Jack Johnson for three years running. Guess what, Pittsburgh wanted those two along with Kulemin so much that ... none of them landed in Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh truly wanted a 10-goal guy in Kulemin, I'm sure a deal would have been done. |

Let's hope that significant player is Neal although I would doubt it, the information in this post shows he's nothing without malkin and I think he knows that too. Hopefully the significant player isn't actually one of the good ones. - Genev21

I tend to agree with you, always in Crosby's shadow. Malkin wants to be the top dog wherever he goes. |

Well than I guess it wasn't a very smart decision for him to sign that "life" contract less than a year ago.
If there's a player that enjoys the "shadows" more than Malkin I don't know who that would be... |

87 + 71 arent asking for trades....
Likely candidates are 58 or 18....
I can see it being 58... slighted by Niskanen, Maata and Martin on the PP... but the whole timing thing with his stroke seems odd....
I hope its Neal, would gladly see him packing for a guy like Evander Kane. |

Now that's a name that makes sense. Playing behind such a porous team can't be fun. His reputation is basically mud these days and the team in front of him deserves a large share of the blame. |

malkin pretty much said that if he's traded, he's going back to russia.
he has the best thing going here. he hates the spotlight and the media. if he is traded, that spotlight is on him. right now, that spotlight and media coverage stays on crosby.
if youre the 3rd or 4th best player in the world and you hate the spotlight, what's your best case?
play on a team that the best player in the world plays on. |

i dont know if i believe the story about someone asking out.
if it wasnt for his contract expiring and him not being a star anymore, i'd put money on oprik. i bet he cant wait to leave.
cant be crosby or malkin. doubt it's MAF. could be neal or could be letang but i think it is neal.
trade neal for a carter/richards type package and move on. |

TIOPS is saying that the team is doing homework on Guy Boucher.
Really hope that's not true. i find it hard to be true when they dont have a GM, but i generally like TIOPS so i'll take his word. |

It was reported by Savern. He's not a "gossip" guy like Rossi. So if true, it has to be one of three guys.
Letang: He's reportedly a "sensitive" guy. Has take a ton of heat for his poor play the last couple of years. Wasn't happy about being demoted off the top PP.
MAF: Tired of being hung out to dry by a poor defensive team. Reputation is in the cellar and his name has become a punchline around the league. Could very easily look for a fresh start.
Neal: He's either tired of nailing every Pittsburgh hockey slut or tired of playing with two of the best centers in the world....WTF? I guess we'll have to go with the hockey slut theory. |

new GM needs to have a talk with these guys and ask them what they see in the future for them in pittsburgh.
the first step in fixing a team is finding out who truly wants to be here and who wants to collect a pay check.
i think Neal should be a goner regardless and i think letang and MAF can be two great players under the right coach.
the other rumor about Adams being the coaches pet and hanging out with them all the time shouldnt shock anyone. |
