Or go huge on Niskanen. I think the pens move heaven and earth to resign him, however. - nfph
Doubt they move heaven and earth to sign him. They have pretty deep young defense. They won't over pay for Niskanen. |

I think Mark Stone is going to be a very good player. I'd be ecstatic if we managed to pry him out of Ottawa. |

If we managed to get two of either Mark Stone (OTT), Teemu Pulkkinen (DET), or Miikka Salomaki (NSH), I would be quite the happy individual. |

His numbers are brutal because he plays on a garbage team right now. Maybe he would have better stats if his team played better. |

I could easily see buffalo getting a 4th 1st round pick in 2015 draft. I would not be surprised to see either erhoff, stafford, stewert or myers traded by the deadline for more picks or players. |

Cross Myers off that list. He's part of the future. |

If the Sabres don't hit it big in this draft you can kiss any cup chance for years. It's not like Myers and Girgensons will lead them to anything... Kevin Devine is still here for some reason. |

They have the 2nd pick. I'm sure they'll do OK. |

If Florida takes Reinhart or Bennett:
Draft Ekblad, then offer Edmonton Myers (and maybe one of (or two if need be) our 2nd's) for the #3 pick, then draft either Bennett, Reinhart or big Leon.
Thoughts?

No thanks . Then have to develop Ekbald for 3 to 4 years to get Myers type player back . We have already started developing Defense men . I really think Ekbald benefits from a weak defensive draft . Watched a couple games of the Barrie - North Bay playoff series . I do not think he is all that . Defense men at top of draft are riskier then forwards . Let's get someone that will help score goals next.

Let's hope for the Blues ( serves them right for not signing Miller , so we get that other first ) and Islanders to go in the toilet next year . Let's own the 2015 draft ! |

You mean to tell me that a kid who was ranked the OHL's best defenseman, not to mention voted to have/be the: hardest shot, best shot, best offensive defenseman and best defensive defenseman in the Eastern conference isn't worth that pick?
It's not like the scouts and experts have to rank a defenseman high.
And watching two games isn't enough to be an expert on Ekblad. |

If you're not drafting Big Bad Ekblad at that point, you had better be trying to swing a trade with Edm.
Calgary & NYI both want Sam Reinhart... Maybe theres a trade back opportunity there as well? |

It just makes no sense trading Myers. I don't need to explain it. Gees, we'll be rebuilding for 10 years with some of these suggestions. |

Watched world juniors as well , also went up to see an Ice dogs - Barrie game . I am not sold on him when we really need centers . He is not next Shea Weber. I think Risto is better . Defense men just don't come into the NHL and dominate . 3 to 4 year learning curve. Again Benefitting from weak draft class. |

No D for any reason and the chance of a trade happening within the top five picks.Slim. I like Bennett or Draisaitl myself. |

Did you just see his give away that sends Canada home from the World Championships?
Announcers said it was the worst turnover they have seen at the professional level. The guy is lost. - bloatedmosquito
I saw a AHL goalie give up two softies to lose.

This had nothing to do with the tournament (even though he blew it) - Trilla
Did you watch the last two goals? That game was lost on goaltending, plain and simple. |

I'd put money on Murray packaging two 2nd round picks to move back into the first round for a player like Berbashev or Tuch.
Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Colorado are all targets since they dont have 2nd round picks this year. |

I'm sorry for making such a terrible suggestion.
I forgot I was surrounded by hockey experts/budding general managers/professional scouts on here.
It's no wonder no one comes on these boards anymore. You can't voice your opinion without someone attempting to make you feel stupid.
Thanks.
Carry on.
