Personally, I would rather see Voracek and G split up at even strength. Move up Simmonds with G, and have Voracek and Hartnell with B. Schenn. So teams can't have their top pairing d-men constantly covering the Flyers two best forwards.
Yes, this team has been able to score goals. However, there 5 on 5 ability to score goals the last couple of years has not been good enough. This team relies way too much on its PP to score goals. I believe LW is a problem. - ravishingone
Adding depth at LW would be good. I just don't think the team is in dire need of a top line LW for Giroux. Getting a LW to play with Schenn would help the team's depth and make them a better 5v5 team. Schenn was a positive possession and + player when he wasn't with VL. Theres no reason the 2nd and 4th line can't be improved at a reasonable price. |

If they cant move Vinny, move Grossman and go cheaper on D to fit Jussi

I think they'll be able to move Vinny, it might mean them eating a $1 million/yr to get it done. I can't imagine Vinny being satisfied with the diminished role he was given by Berube. I like Jussi, and hope Hexy kicks the tires on him.
I don't expect both L. Schenn and Grossmann to be on the roster next season, IMO.

Scott Gomez was 29 years of age, coming off a 16 goal, 58 point season. His contract called for a $7.35mm cap hit for the next 5 seasons. He was traded, along with a couple of mid tier prospects for Chris Higgins (a decent third line center) and 3 prospects. One of those was named Ryan McDonagh.
This gives me hope that there's a return out there for Lecavalier. I'm not saying they'll get a McDonagh, but maybe something that brings a bit of value. |

There is enough center needy teams out there for a trade to happen for Vinny. I think he could slip into a second line center role on at least 6 teams right now. Its pretty obvious Berube doesn't want him. |

Agreed. I just don't think he fits in Philly. He still has some things he does well, but if the Flyers do try to become a hard skating possession team, it ain't his bag. |

I think they'll find a taker, but nothing close to that as I think you already know. |

Trading VL will not be much more than a salary dump. Anything above a 4th is just gravey |

He'll fit in a Lava style, not writing he will end up with Nashville. If he can be paired with a winger who can carry the puck through the neutral zone, I think there is value. A second line center, who plays around 17 minutes a game including on a team's first PP unit setting up on the right half boards. If they are willing to eat a $1 million, I think the offers get better. Personally, I would take a little less to get the entire cap hit removed.

I had been of the opinion that the best they could do is a 3rd or 4th rounder while eating $1mm-$1.5mm.
I'd be happy with a 3rd line winger or mid tier prospect. |

Absolutely. I'd happily take a 7th rounder if somebody'd just take 100% of the contract |

I really think Poile/Lava take a run at Vinny. Cullen, Gaustad, and Mr. Underwood are the top 3 centers. Ouch, that is brutal!!!! Its not like Lava has a great track record of developing young centers to reach their potential.

Annually. I doubt anyone that needs cash eaten wants it to be a one time thing. |

If Vinny waives to go to Nashville, the Flyers can get a decent return due to the bounty of picks Nashville has. Great city, but... |

They have Craig Smith And Colin Wilson. Smith is their best center now, and I'd take him over Vinny. They also have kids like Jarnkrok & Forsberg in the mix...I'd be really cautious to trade for Vinny if I was Nashville. |

Okay, I thought Forsberg was a winger. Also, I will defend Vinny in one way. I don't know how much the back injury effected his skating. Sure he was healthy enough to play, but how strong was the back really? I'm not suggesting, his skating will do a 180, but I do believe it won't be quite as labored.
Berube has stated in interviews after the season, Vinny needs to get in better shape. Maybe this means getting his core stronger. I do think he still get traded, but I would be curious to see his CORSI stats pre injury (small sample) compared to post injury. See if there is any significant deviation. |

Forsberg can play both, may end up as a winger.
A healthy Vinny is more productive than all but Smith, so they may have interest. Also, I know Cullen has played wing before, so he can shift.
I do feel the back affected Vinny, but his possession stats were fairly poor in Tampa in the lockout season of 2013.
I will agree Nashville needs guys that can simply find the back of the net, even if they use Vinny as a RW with Smith or Fisher, he could be effective for them. |

I don't know much about Wilson, Flyers don't need centers, but that said Flyers would do that in a NY minute. |

More realistic would be VL for Gaustad and say #76. We get a 3rd round pick(they have another). I'd prefer to take Cullen's bad contract, but Nashville probably wouldn't. |
