Looks good but I doubt Hextall is making that many moves. All teams that win Cups have a solid D core usually with a legit # 1. If Flyers can't get that franchise blue liner then building an overall higher quality D is where they should start. - 3flyerkids
Very highly unlikely. Tried to work with what was out there. |

And what have the schenns done? I dont think schenn and schenn are enought to get you myers. Personally id like to see couts on the second line. Hes going to be a (frank)ing monster once he fills out |

Or he could go way of Patrick Berglund and Brandon Sutter. 2 guys of similar build/ability who had their best offensive years at ages 20-21 to date, and have settled into 3rd line roles. |

I am curious to see if things change with the Phantoms. They had better teams when right in philly and i am wondering with the kids being closer to Philly then Adirondak if they step it up. Maybe in some psychological way they feel they have a better chance at a call up since they are closer and easier for front office to notice. - J35Bacher
The Phantoms were good in Philly because they were generally stocked with AHL veteran types.
It wasn't like the Phantoms were pumping out prospects when they were in Philly. They had older veteran types like Peter White, etc. They were just as interested in marketing a successful professional hockey franchise (to fill the building as much as possible) as they were anything else when the Phantoms were in Philly.
I look forward to the organization taking a different approach to the Phantoms now. I hope they have more prospects that they actually drafted and developed and fewer Denis Hamels or Peter Whites or John Slaneys. |

I see couts progression curve going in a positive direction. I personally think Lavy messed up his development. This year he seemed to assert himself more offensively |

I'm a fan, although Schenn's played his best hockey with Kimmo and Coburn. I know it would be a nice transition for Alt to play with a vet like him, so I'd prefer to see:
Schenn-Coburn
Streit-AMac
Timonen-Alt
Lauridsen - jmatchett383
works for me

I don't mind filling your weak areas with AHL vets. For example, if Laughton opens with the Flyers, why not go out and get the best minor league center you can to center your first line? I'd like to see our kids develop on a solid to good team and not a stinker. |
