You need to patient, Hextall alluded to the need to possibly take a step back to improve the team long term. I'd rather make only minor moves rather than make a bad trade or overpay for a UFA

I really don't know a lot about Raymond. I believe they want to sign winger who can play in the top 9 for $3 million or under. I do believe Art Ross Akeson has a better chance of cracking the top 9 this fall with Homer being removed as GM.

Akeson is one of those WTF moves by the organization. Isn't called up at all during the season until the last game of the season. Of course, he then gets inserted in top 9 role for the playoffs. I just don't get why he couldn't have gotten more then 1 regular season game.

look at how gusty was mishandled and that says it all

I agree. Put it on these guys, they make plenty enough coin. Tell them no UFA is going to come in and bail them out. Figure out some pairings in camp and have them go to work. Hopefully Ghost is a revelation to help the cause. No more long term contracts for UFA defensemen. Can't do it

I just think they are close and I don't want to see Giroux get the crap beat out of him for a couple more years. We have the goalie, a legit top forward, a lot of help up front. Just a little more speed and another stable Defense man could make a difference. Are the Rangers that much better than the Flyers? I don't think so, and it would be no contest if we can add a couple pieces.
I don't want to loose our picks either and I understand that patience is important, but we are close

No, the Rangers aren't that much better, however, assuming they make finals, tge Rangers won't take Chicago or LA past 5 games. Much like the Flyers in 2010, the Rags are benefiting from a combo of favorable matchups (no Boston) and big breaks (the Price injury)

I don't think the Flyers are just one obtainable dman from being a contender. I do however think, with the right moves and with good drafting they can be a dark horse by 15-16 and a contender by 16-17

I'm "rooting" for the Kings right now.

However, I WILL be rooting for the Western Conference- even the Hawks- if the Rangers get to the Cup. Won't even think twice.

A top Dman and some speed up front ... A left winger. They could very well compete.
They showed they could beat anyone this year. Make a couple additions and they can compete

I don't know why your posts aren't quotable, but whatever.

I don't think they're far off. If you give this team a healthy, non kidney crosschecked G and Mason for the whole series, I think at the very least they take care of the Rags no problem.

A puck mover behooves this team, and I really think they could surprise some people- more so than last season.

IMO, if you have a legit goalie can you compete in any given year? Yes, I believe you can, it would take a Vezina type season by a goalie to do so. It has been done, Hasek and the Sabres, Giguere and the Ducks, and of course Brodeur and the Devils. Elite goal tending can cover up a lot of team deficiencies. I believe Mason has that type of ability.

If flyers can move vinny and resign timonen, we will be a significantly better hockey team.
